The night before

The night before

So Im not sure if Im doing a rehearsal dinner. I dont really have a big wedding (85-100people) or bridal party (3 and 3).

What is everyone doing the night before??

What do people usually do?

I was thinking of doing a get together at the hotel bar and having some food provided. So the guests have something to do if they check in early. I will be there with my bridal party from the day before and so will my FH and his guyz.

My mom is concerned that if i have a rehearsal dinner if anyone else stays in the hotel they will feel left out (im not sure she gets the whole rehearsal dinner thing) so that is why i rather spend the money on extending the bar and having food so that anyone who wants to come out can hang out. I def cant do both. Which is more important?

Am I doing this all wrong???

by actual tradition your supposed to do the rehearsal at the church or where ever your getting married and you take your bridal party to dinner as a thank you. This is also where you present your bridal gifts and parent gifts. this is also by tradition the last place you see your fiancée before the next day.

you can do whatever you want to do. you don't have to follow tradition.

i'm having the same wedding as you (80-100) people and 3 and 3 bridal party. the day before i'm having a 'rehearsal' at my house and catering bbq food. just a little get together with the immediate family and bridal party. after its over my FH will go home to his parents house and sleep there. im gonna get my nails done and sleep at my parents.

I'm a Sunday wedding. I'm having rehersal at the church then dinner (about 30 people) on Friday so if we drink too much we have time to recover Saturday. Saturday I'll be doing nails and relaxing, then me and FH are sleeping apart that night. Then comes the big day!

Exactly you can do whatever works for you and your FH best.

Our rehearsal is June 17th (tuesday) wedding is June 20(friday) The night before about 15 of us ladies family & BP are getting our nails done together along with wine cheese and champagne. I will be having a sleepover with a few of my girls at my moms.

Ok i feel a little better- maybe ill just do the rehearsal

Its just my mother driving me nuts about 'entertaining guest' meanwhile she doesnt want to do anything at the house

thats why we will be at the hotel from the day before cause FH and I live together and are getting seperate rooms at the hotel to sleep and I figured it would make things easier for getting ready in the morning

Although you don't have to follow tradition, I think tradition at-least gives you an idea of what should happen. Its like a starting point.

We're not getting married at a church, so we're still unsure when or where the rehearsal will happen. But we plan on having dinner with the bridal party (and their SOs) the Saturday before the wedding. We're kinda using the time to say thank you to all those that have helped and supported us.

Although we're not getting married at a church, we're still doing a rehearsal dinner at Novita the night before. Its our way of saying thank you to the OOT guests/bridal party. We also plan to give the bridal party and our parents their gifts that night, so I'm excited about that.

My wedding is a Friday night, the rehearsal is the night before at the church and we are doing dinner after. Like everyone said I will be giving the bridal party and family their gifts and it's the last time with my FH before we walk down the aisle

We never planned on doing a rehearsal dinner, not part of my tradition. However, there will be friends and family staying at the hotel the night before the wedding, and my parents wanted to do like an open door dinner policy. I'm afraid that may get too expensive for them, especially bc FH family is super large. I'm thinking of maybe catering in and possibly asking the hotel if I can use the breakfast area and just have a no frills night before dinner with whomever wants to join.

I am getting married at my venue so our actual rehearsal is 1/2 hour before the ceremony. The night before (next Thursday!) we are hosting a rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant as a thank you to our bridal party and immediate family and so that we can give them their gifts.

After that FH and I will part ways and we will each be staying at our parents house for the night so that the first look will be more special the next day after having not seen each other for almost a day.

We had our rehearsal last night. Tonight I'm staying home, ordering pizza and watching chick flicks with my mom MOH and aunt.
