Re: the noise...the noise

My Dad used to be assigned to the Kitty Hawk when we lived in California (he was a Navy Mechanic). He worked on those ships and was even part of their history. He was requested to come up with a new logo for the tails of the airplanes. He did and they used it for a while, now they are trying to find him to give him credit for the design. We've sent in our back up info so he'll be recongized soon! We're so happy for him.

He also was selected as a mechanic for the blue angels troop, but unfortunately, that's when my real mother went nutty and things went poorly in our family. He had to decline.

I used to be unable to go to sleep without the sound of airplanes overhead. I've lived my whole live around B52s, F16s and other military aircraft.

I remember waiting for my Daddy on the dock in Norfolk, VA when he came in on the Enterprise.. ah those were the days.

yabbo
My dad joined in the early 70's

We lived in Cuba after I was born, then Texas (Lexington), then Virgina (Enterprise) then California (Kitty Hawk).

Those are the ones *I* remember.

he served on other Carriers. But we always felt 'home' with the Big E
