we already have one of these, i think... plus many brides put 'Booked' since their was an incident on here years ago..

A bride was going around canceling peoples reception halls. Thats why many of us don't put our hall and we have bogus dates just in case.

Wow, I had no idea... but my FH and I have to cancel our contract IN WRITING, and since both of us signed the contract both of us need to sign if we cancel.

Yes they do require that now as an extra precautionary step. However, many just prefer to omit that information. Anything is possible...
