well the whole carribean has the possibility of hurricanes in Aug but St. Lucia is pretty far south so I think they are less likely...if you're really worried I know Aruba is supposed to be one of the islands that gets hit less since its SO far south....

A tour guide told us it has been a long time since they were hit with a hurricane (i forget exactly). The island is not in the hurricane belt, so they avoid alot of the weather issues.

whats with the borded off area in the ocean

Yes. At the Sandals Grande there are alot of water sports-the section for swimming is pretty large. But they ask that you stay within the ropes for your own safety, so you don't get hit by a boat, wave runner, etc.
At the Regency the water is rougher, I didn't stay there so I don't know about water sports, but I would imagine that is what is considered the safe area.

FH and I are between Sandals St lucia and Hawaii. We want to buy a house so that is why we are leaning towards St. Lucia

OK so tell me about the best resort of sandals in st lucia...how many are there? Why did you pick the one that you did?

I just saw this thread....we booked at Halycon Beach (Sandals) I cannot wait to go!! Anyone have pictures from there? I know it's the smaller and more rural of the resorts- that is what we wanted. I am soo excited to go!!!

Congrats! We visited Halcyon and thought it was very romantic, relaxing and intimate. The property is very lush with lots of plants and flowers. We ate at the Pier restaurant which was very good. One of my favorite photos from our HM was taken on the beach at the Halcyon during the sunset. The professional photographers took one of me & DH and it came out great! I will post some of the photos I took.

i dont know about this.. but i know when we went in aug last summer it did rain the first day we were there and a bit some other days. It came down HARD but once it was over 30 min or so it was beautiful
