Just wondering...who did you use and how were they?

well i had my one thing. my mother's dress just came in last week (2 weeks before the wedding), but they couldn't get her in for a fitting until this last tuesday. when she went, it didn't fit and the seamstress was doubtful about making it fit. my mom freaked out, but didn't want to upset me so she wasn't going to tell me. but last night i called my sister and she told me what happened. then i freaked out.. i mean we have 9 days until the wedding!!! so this morning my mom and i went down to the dress shop to figure out what our options were (apparently my mom called there repeatedly wed. and thurs. but felt they were very rude and unsympathetic-- but my mom was also hysterical so who knows). anyway, i told my mom to let me do all the talking.. i figured being nice would help us get what we needed from them.. and we bought all the dresses there so i figured they would go out of their way to help us. and they did!!! we went in there and my mom was so mad, but she let me do all the talking. i calmly explained that wearing the dress they ordered was not an option and i needed to know all our options given the fact the wedding is in 9 days. the manager was very nice about it, as were the saleswomen. my mom tried the dress on again and it was bad..i don't understand how it could be so tight when her measurements hardly changed from those on the sales receipt. anyway, the manufacturer happened to send an extra gown for a sample that was bigger. my mom tried it on and it can be altered down to her size. luckily they had this gown that was never worn, and while it wasn't the color she originally picked, it was the color that she almost picked. so they aren't going to charge us for both dresses and everything worked out. after, we went across the street to the shoe shop, got her cute shoes and a matching bag.. and then i treated her to lunch. so thats my story... i can't recommend bridal suites of patchogue more highly! it could have been a really bad situation, but by being calm but firm, all was resolved within an hour. now i'm DEFINTELY not going to stress about all the little stuff.. i stressed more this morning than i have during the whole planning of the wedding. whew! good luck and happy planning everyone, leighann
