The Riviera at Massapequa and Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling?

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone heard anything good or bad about either one of these venues? FH and I are planning a winter wedding, so I am looking for a RH that kind gives off that 'winter wedding feeling.'

FML said she has heard a lot of bad things about both places. I am getting a little discouraged since it seems like every venue I suggest or even mention going to to check out gets shot down by FML.

Thanks for your input!!

The Riviera at Massapequa is awesome!!!

i'm not familiar with the vanderbilt mansion but i know the riviera like the back of my hand! you're going to hear bad about any place, what you need to ask yourself is is the venue best for you and can you picture yourself enjoying your wedding in that venue.

I don't really know anything about vanderbilt but the Riviera is great. FH's sister got married there 2 years ago and it was really nice. She had it in July so the cocktail hour was outside and the food was really good. She didn't really have any complaints. You should definitely check it out. You'll always hear something bad about any place, some people are really picky and hard to please and sometimes things happen. I personally haven't heard anything about Riviera. Good luck.
