the RSVP drama continues....

Okay ladies!!!

Who has lost a long time friend due to their immaturity level?? (the guest)
I received the reply that had the invited guests name along with her S.O. which was not invited!!! S.O. for her ** does not = engaged or living together** and we were friends and long story short- I don't want him at the wedding (with out hurting her feelings I have not put it that way) anyways after some words and her asking so there's no way I can bring him? to I have to come alone?? to you want to be drive to LI alone??? then we moved on to ....well i don't think I'll be able to come with out him and finally the best was ... well yea, don't think i can. I haven't gotten found coverage yet for work either.

How can you go to OMG we are sooo coming! can't wait to actually I don't think I can with work... can you say WT heck!!

so upset!!! Guess this process proves who your true friends are even if you have known them your whole life. Sometimes guys I guess break up friendships.

Any one else feel super disappointed by their friends?

Sorry, I don't think i'd attend without my 'significant other' either....especially to another state. I know that's not what you wanted to hear, just my opinon.

I think it depends on how long she's been with this guy to understand the background here. FH and I dated for 7 years before being engaged, and we never lived together, but obviously, he was a serious bf. I would've been upset if I was invited to a wedding without him.

If she's been with the guy for a few years, I could maybe understand her getting upset and now not wanting to come.

But if it's someone she's only been dating for a few weeks/months, and if she's aware that maybe you're on a budget and really can't squeeze him in, then that's messed up on her part to not come.

same here. i think in cases like this the best thing for you and your friend to do is agree to disagree.

I wouldn't make the drive to another state without someone. I invited OOT with others. My bf and bm is coming from fla and bringing her female friend, who is picking her up at the airport and taking her to my wedding. I am very thankful for that.

exactly! i have friends who have been with their bfs for YEARS and some of them don't live together. And if somebody invited me to a wedding before i was engaged to dh, and said i couldn't bring him, i'd be upset. The same way i know my friends bf's very well and for many years and im sure they would've been pissed at me.

It all depends on the situation though, if she hasnt been with him long then its different and you should explain to her your situation and hopefully she will understand

I appreciate the opinions ladies... but there is more to the story, of course that was intentionally left out. To me.... even though I never dated this person--- this would be like inviting my ex- finace to my wedding? (don't get me wrong I give those of you who are friends with your previous relationships a lot of credit) however, I just don't feel it appropriate for her S.O. to attend. He has treated her wrong, was an awful friend to me before hand, and well basically told me my FH (before we were engaged) that I should dump him and date him and this was after he had dated my friend and I'm not just saying this but he told me flat out that he should have went out with me the 1st time instead of her (they were together for a couple months broke up) and then now are back together after several years apart.

I know it's my day but I really think seeing him there will make me mad!! so I'm avoiding as much drama day of that I can. And I really did think about it before I gave her my answer whether it was I was upset b/c she invited a guest or if it truly was more then that and clearly it is... the thought of him being there upsets me. I know this is wrong to say but if it was anybody else her S.O. no matter how long they were dated would prolly be invited- just saying...

I know this situation is awkward- oh wells.

JMO I know it is tough, but sometimes you have to suck it in for your friend's choice even if it is a loser. One of my dear friends for over 10 yrs has a loser of a husband. He beats and ran her over with a car. It makes me sick to look at him, but he will be there Sat. It is her husb and I have to accept that. It is her choice and you have to accept that when you accept her as your friend.
