oh and i forgot the kicker...as I'm grabbing my stuff to leave for the day she goes 'what good does it do to put a lock on the lockbox if the lockbox is broken' so i said 'you're asking the wrong person' she says 'don't worry I'll get you guys a new lockbox.....or....I guess really I should say I'll get THEM a new lockbox'

i'm so happy you found another job. even if you hadn't, how can they expect ANYONE to work in those conditions. you get mad props not only for working there as long as you did, but making sure your employees came first!

OMG!!!! THEY CANNOT DO THAT!!!! I'm pretty sure what you're describing is called 'sick building syndrome' and its COMPLETELY ILLEGAL!!!! I'm an environmental consultant....TRUST ME!!!! YOU NEED TO CONTACT THE BOARD OF HEALTH ASAP!!!! IT IS SOOOOOO DANGEROUS TO WORK UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS!!!! Some girl in NYC DIED over the summer because of similar exposure....she was 23!!!!!

THATS COMPLETELY HORRIBLE!!!! YOU NEED TO TAKE ACTION RIGHT AWAY!!! CONTACT OSHA AND THE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH!!!! Its so illegal its not even funny!!!!!

thanks ladies! I feel darn good...I think I may get all my stress and aggressions out on this chik by reporting her to HR its feels GREAT! BUT yeah...she has been petty with me and my staff since day one and I have done nothing but bend over backwards for that company...and my staff knows this all too well...so of course they were upset when they saw how she was treating me. she doesn't understand why everybody is unhappy and everyone wants to leave because I'm leaving. guess it still hasn't dawned on her that if i leave ...in my staffs eyes...all thats left is her...and who the hell wants to work for that?!?!

AND i just got a call that the associate i sent home early because she was feeling sick...ended up passing out upstairs in the foodcourt.

SERIOUSLY- this is negligence and its a criminal act. You're are actually responsible for reporting it or you are a party to it as well....you can even enter an anonymous complaint....seriously- DO IT!!! That's really aweful...what a fuucking assshole!!!!

yup, tommorow after i get the agreement in writing I'm calling OSHA and the board of health...I have my assistant taking pics right now and I'm taking more tommorow. I also told my assistant who was throwing up and the associate who passed out they need to go to the DR immediately ...and my other assistant said when she goes home from work she can still taste paint in her throat so i told her to go to the DR too.

ETA: i reported this to store maintanance dept twice and also to my DSM to follow up with why it hasn't been done yet. It's been at least 2 1/2 weeks since i discovered the mold and reported it and it still is sitting there. they sent someone to look at it...that person had to send a quote to corporate...apparently their quote was too high so instead they asked the contractor who is remodeling our store to look at it to see if they could clean it up or fix it...they said they need to come back and open the wall to see where the water is coming in from...that was tuesday...nothing yet.

Your DM sounds like a fricken witch! Sorry you have to deal with a person like that. I left my job because of shiet like that. If you want, I have a lot of pent up anger I need to let out, Ill go beat her up
But make sure you let me know in advance so I could pick up some Vaseline beforehand.

lol so today i had THREE people come to look at the wall w mold. they are in the store cutting open the wall now. the first person that came cleaned up the mold with clorox and a paper towel...i called corporate like 'are you freaking kidding me?!?! you're paying them 200 buxx to wipe the wall with clorox???? you could have paid me half that and i would have even paid for the clorox!!! i can understand cheaping out with minor construction issues or furniture and such but this is HEALTH HAZARD!' I Had a mold specialist in my store in less than a half hour.
