I am going to check that place out next. Does anyone have any pros/cons of that place? Whats their off-season price range? Thanks :)

Re: The Sands @ Lido
I went to see the place back in May and really liked how much technology they had built into the price..(the ability to run a photo montage/video, lighting etc.) but just wasn't sold on the manager, something made me very unsettled. He seemed like he was selling me the world for the greatest price around (peak season, a Saturday night in July, Forum mail me if you want to know price but it was unbelievably low). He did say that the caterer had just taken over the location and wanted to get the word out. My mom and dad went on their own after I said that I liked the place but was uncomfortable, said who they were and he made a comment that 'he has a hard time working with brides because their expectations are to high.' I had posted on theknot.com asking if anyone had heard or been to a wedding at the 'Recently taken over sands at lido' and the manager went on (I guess he checks out the boards), read my post asking for comments, and called me to tell me he saw it...(can I tell you how uncomfortable that was!!!) He told me not to trust what brides had to say but go to mitvah.com and believe what mothers who throw bar/bat mitvahs had to say because they are more realistic...(wow, to say to a bride) anyway all the red flags and uncomfortable feelings made me go elsewhere...p.s did I mention that he told us we could come for a tasting whenever we wanted and we tried to set something up on 3 different occasions and he always had a reason why it couldn't work. So as I said we went elsewhere and boy am I happy because I recently was on theknot.com again and I saw a post from a girl who had her wedding there and she was promised the world and it wasn't delivered, along with a few other reasons for her unhappiness. Check out there and good luck..I did see 24 venues if you have any that you need info on

And what did you guys think? Those posts on The Knot make me not want to mess around there.

I feel the same way as you! I really liked the place. It was totally my fiance's and I vision but its scary to trust people these days and especially with all the bad reviews its gotten. The price is good. I was trying to get the guy to go down more but he said he would have to talk to his boss/owner. Hasn't called since though.

Re: The Sands @ Lido
And just so you know for the month I was dealing with him, we had to track him down and call non stop. He never calls when he says he does and then thinks the bride is the problem....sorry to be so negative about him, I just have such a bad feeling and taste in my mouth about and from him!
