the shady lady Inn Greenport

what a great restaurant!!!! My Dh took me there for my b-day dinner last night. it was so classy and the food was amazing!!!!! Dh had to wear a suit jacket!!! Love that!!!! Very Victorian decor but such great service!!!! i had the seafood Veloute and it was perfect..there were scallops in it and they just melted in your mouth..not an ounce of sand!! hot rolls at the table, spoon rests...just perfect!
and at a reasonable price!

The only thing I didn't like was the doll collection that are displayed all over the place...little creepy!

Take a virtual tour of the Inn online....

I was there many times way back when it was a different restaurant - I can't remember the name.

Just checked out the website - either BOY HAS IT CHANGED or I'm thinking of a different place. It also says the Zorn family, you think like the Zorn's chicken place?

The women that owns it is the daughter of the Zorn founder. They are currently building a Zorns in the back of the Shady Lady. It will be under a permanent tent.

The doll collection is strange but so is the daughter. They love the victorian age.

yeah the waiter told us it was owned by the Zorn's. That chicken and rib place is supposed to open in 3 weeks!!!!
That is a must to go to!

PS yeah it was Portico's or Porgee's and the waiter said it took 4 years to fully remodel! They tore down the place basically!

I remember when they were buidling it - it had caught fire at one point...

Its nice to hear that it is a good place- my parents have a summer home in east marion - yet i've never been there -

Do you always need a jacket to go?

My mom loves that restaurant. I have never been there, but she said if I am ever in the area to stop in for a drink.

You only need a jacket for the red room. You can also eat in the front without a jacket. The menu is different though
