The Swan Club

Thanks all for your advice. I finally decided on a venue : )

Hello all and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials
I need your help .....I have been considering a couple of halls for my wedding and would like your opinion on such. My mother -in-law to be has recommended the Swan Club, but I don't know anything about the place. In fact....I don't know much about halls in Long Island. My in-laws to be will be paying for the hall but they are used to good food and would not have anything that doesn't met their expectations. We will be having our wedding in Long Island (Manhasset). Do you recommend the Swan Club as far as food and service? They are my two main concerns...food and service. I have also been considering the following.....

****Chateau LaMer ----Linderhurst

**** Fox Hollow ----Woodbury

*** The Douglaston Mannor

*** The thatched cottage --- Centerport

Any help will be welcome

I will be making appointments to see the places, but I trust you guys the most and would like your opinion

Thanks :hug

Re: The Swan Club

I was at a Swan Club wedding in May. The cocktail hr was small, the food was not to good and we were crammed in. Also there was another wedding the same night and even my friend that had the wedding there didn't think she was treated properly priority wise.. Good luck

Talking with my friend she said they told her 225 fit in the room she had 220. SHe said if she were to get nmarried all over again she would ask to see what that room looked like with the 220 in it. I learned from this and asked to see what my room looked like set up with the guest list numbers.

Re: The Swan Club

I am getting married at the Swan Club in August and FH and I already went for the food tasting which was amazing! I can't compare to the people who already commented, since I have not attended a wedding there. My brother is a DJ and has done many weddings there, and he was the one to recommend it to us.

Thank you for your advice. I have an appointment for next Friday. I will also be going to the Venetian Club on that day as well : ) I really appreciate your help. We may have to change our wedding date for August 2nd because is the only day they have available in August, but I don't mind : ) Good luck to you and congratulations!

The Chateau La Mer is beautiful and the food is awesome.

You can check the boards (go to the Bridal Reviews) and you will find brides who had their weddings at the places you are inquiring about.

I have been to a wedding at The Swan Club and the food was very good. The room for the cocktail hour was small but the food was good.

Fox Hollow is gorgeous and has some great outdoor & indoor locations for pictures. The food is also very good.

The Chateau La Mer is beautiful and the food is phenominal. When you go there, ask about a food tasting. They do full course meal at their food tastings, which is rare. Go there, trust me, you'll fall in love!

A friend of mine got married at the Thatched Cottage and her and her family had nothing but raves for the food and service! I guess the family that owns it also is the head chef and pastry chef, so they are always on the premises during weddings. Definitely check it out!

i will be having my wedding at the swan club in aug of 09 and so far, they have treated me great and i have no complaints... i had their food and thought it was great! i guaranteed 150 for the room and dont plan on exceeding that ... i dont think id want over 200 people in the camelot room to tell ya the truth... tables would be too close together in my opinion

the gardens are gorgeous and the prices are great! the menu seems like it will be alot of food! check my album for tons of pics of the place

Re: The Swan Club

My daughter just got married at the Swan Club 2 weeks ago. It was WONDERFUL! Our cocktail hour started at 7. We arrived around 3:45....my daughter wanted to get pictures outside in daylight. They were VERY accomodating. Our maitre d, Christian was waiting outside when we arrived. He brought us up to the Bridal Suite and in about 5 min. brought us a tray of sliced fresh fruit and cheese, drinks, etc. He stopped in every 10 min. to make sure we were ok. The cocktail hour was TERRIFIC. The food was delicious. Her reception was in the Camelot & the cocktail hr. was in the adoining room. We are still getting phone calls from people telling us how much the loved the place. The dinners were excellent. The viennese table was delicious as well as the wedding cake. I would highly recommend you check them out. We had about 160 in the Camelot room and it was comfortable. We originally invited 218, and luckily we had alot of no's. I think over 200 would have been a little tight.
Good luck.
