The time has come to seal the invites....Need Help?

Hey Girls!

Okay so my invites are addresses, stuffed, weighed, stamped, etc.

They are going in the mail tomorrow or Saturday (before the May 11th postage raise) at the post office where I will have them 'hand canceled'

How do I seal them? Should I use a sponge, or buy one of those envelope sealer things at the store?

I have about 120 total invites to seal, so I need a nice and easy way to do it.

TIA

I would either buy the envelope sealers, or use a sponge or wet paper towel.

Whatever you do, don't lick 'em...remember what happened to Susan in 'Seinfeld'?

Hee hee hee hee hee

I'd get one of those sealer things. We have the sponges at work and sometimes they get kinda drippy with the water.

I use O'Glue at work and it's the best one i've found so far. the sponge applicator never gets clogged up with glue like the rest of them.

I purchased something that was like a glue stick, but had a pad on the bottom so that you could slide it along the envelopes instead of licking them. I found them in Michael's and I think once in CVS when I needed it quickly for something.

They do sell them, and that is what I wound up using to seal my envelopes with. Sometimes if you use a sponge, you may press too hard, and water can squeeze out and stain the envelope. That's just how I felt about it b/c I have had that happen in the past. I didn't want that to happen to my invites.

I used the envelope sealer thingy with the sponge and a seal bc when I sent out my practice invite to my aunt, she said it came to her with the flap opened!

I just bought a glue stick at barnes & noble and it worked out great. Sealed all 96 envelopes with one stick with glue to spare. I used clear, but you can also get the purple glue sticks that dry clear at almost any drug store or stationary store.

I'd just use a sponge. Free and easy!

for our Eparty we did the wax seals.. they didn't cost extra (postage wise) and we LOVED the way they came out.
I'd go to party city and get a set and practice a bit then do them.
best system- work as a team, one drips one stamps...and keep the windows open because it smells.

that's only if you WANT to do that...
if you just want to seal them... use a sponge or wet papertowel.

keep in mind to tell whoever is helping you to take off their nail polish so it doesnt get on the invites!
