The Vanderbilt Mansion...

Would love some feedback on the food and service. They have a few menus to choose from and the one I am considerring (not the most expensive) inlcudes passed hors douevres, a cold display and a choice of one station so I am wonderring if it is enough food. I am only having about 100 people so it is the perfect size. Any thoughts would be great!!!!

I'm getting married there in 6 weeks. Are you having the sit-down dinner after the cocktail hour or just cocktail style reception? When we went to the tasting the dinner entrees had very big portions and the presentation was beautiful so I know that my guests won't be leaving hungry. I posted some pictures of the entrees from my tasting so you should do a search under 'Vanderbilt'. So far I've heard a lot of favorable comments from vendors about the service when I tell them I'm having my wedding there. Having dealt with the management there so far through my planning, they have been very professional and they run a tight ship so I know that my day will run smoothly when time comes.

Congratulations! It really is a beautiful site and I am sure your day will be great! I am planning on the 'elegant' sit down dinner package. Having enough food is just one of biggest worries....I will check out the food pics. If you do not mind me asking what vendors are using? Are you doing a Sat. eve. I have been looking for hotels or an after wedding place for everyone to hang out ....do you have any suggestions?

We are doing the elegant sit-down too and I think there will be plenty of food. We are doing Saturday evening. I'm using Burtons for flowers, VIP Studios for photography and we're currently finalizing on our band/ceremony music. We have a block of rooms at Marriott Islandia. I don't have any suggestions for after wedding place as I'm not from LI and many of my guest will be staying in NYC and not LI. You should probably check with the hotels to see if they have bars/lounge that you could use for after party.
