FH and I are still trying to find a place to have a reasonably priced wedding. We are paying for it ourselves and are inviting approx 180 or more people. Anyone hear of the View in Oakdale? I've heard good things from others. I emailed them today hoping to check it out his week. What are their prices like? We want sat nite but we would get a Friday nite if we had to.

Re: The view in oakdale
I've been to the View to eat dinner. In my opinion, it is a smaller venue and can't imagine it fitting a larger wedding like yours! I'm trying to think... I think it had a bar area, a dining room, a small outdoor area...I don't think there is any large space that can fit a lot of people! But hopefully when they email you back, they'll tell you that :) Good luck!!
You may want to look into Timber Point, which could handle 150 or so comfortably. Lessings, which caters the food for The View, also caters for Timber Point :)

Hi - we had our wedding there last Oct and it was perfect. They only do one wedding a week - Sat afternoon when the restaurant is closed, so you have the whole place. We had 130 people and depending on how you do it (they offer traditional sit down dinner or 'cocktail reception' - which is pretty much buffet, with TONS of food), the place can accomadate different amounts of people. When we booked, (Jan 2011) their price was $95 pp + tax & grat, but we negotiated the price down a bit. Plust they threw in a bunch of extras. FM me with any questions you have - I'd be ahppy to answer.
