Re: The Wedding Center in Commack

I got a bm dress there two years ago. It is a one-stop shop: gowns, shoes, invitations, flowers. . . I did not like it at all. The alterations were awful! However, they carry everything so you can go and try on various designers and compare them together and order it somewhere else or order it there and have it altered elsewhere.

thanks - I was actually only thinking of it for the dress, but it sounds kind of factory like...

Re: The Wedding Center in Commack

I would not call it factory like -- it is definitley not your prissy bridal boutique, but far from factory. It is a great place for selection and good prices. I am buying my dress there for about $200 less expensive than I saw it in a boutique.
And my BM dresses are a great price also.
Also I've had great customer service.

Go there and see for yourself. I also said I'm only getting dresses, not services b/c I'm pretty picky about my services, but some are getting services there and some have already and been happy.

There are a couple posts about the wedding center, do a search and you'll see some more opinions.

Re: The Wedding Center in Commack

I don't agree with the factory comment. My girls have all gotten there dresses from there as well as mine. Our alterations have all been done well. I am going for my last fitting in two weeks.
We are also getting our photographer (the best digital package we saw his work prior at a wedding at our church and was impressed!), our video couldn't afford wild rose and just basically want the mass and some special moments on tape from the reception, my mom got my shower favors there.

So, if you can wait about 20 days or so I will tell you first hand about my reaction to their vendors.

Basically in my opinion they do a ton of business and well if they were 'bad or factory like' why are they always so busy and have been in business for so long.

I must say I only deal with the owner rich and not bob.

They have been amazing since we had to postpone 3 weeks before our orginal date in july. Held everything called me personally for update on my cell phone were very nice about everything. I have even been there past closing looking at proofs from weddings they shot.

Also, my DJ who is no way related to CWC had them shoot his brother's wedding and the pictures were great!

But anyways, you asked about dresses I liked them alot, I had a short time before the wedding (or so we thought) and they got them fast. If you looking far in advance I don't recommend them b/c when your dress comes in you must start alterations or pick it up ASAP and I would never have wanted my dress sitting around my house.

But I'll have pictures in a few weeks.

Re: The Wedding Center in Commack

I got my BM dresses at the Commack Wedding Center. I have had nothing but good experiences. We just bought the dreses there because their prices were the best we found. Macy;s wanted $60 more for the dresses. My girls got their alterations elsewhere.

Re: The Wedding Center in Commack

I don't have too much experience with them - but I went last year looking for a dress with my cousin, and did not like it. I think that a large part of that was due to it being a Saturday and it was very crowded. The person who helped us was not very nice and when we asked if my cousins soon to be sister in law could try on one dress she was thinking about (to show us) the woman asked if she was on the list (when we went in we had to put my cousin's name on a list and then wait for like a half hour) but since we hadn't put all our names on the list, the other girl couldn't even go into the same room and try it on to show us. I think on a Saturday they limit the number of dresses you can try on cause it is so busy, but my cousin was well under the number. The woman was very *****y about the whole thing. But again, maybe on a day other then Saturday it would be better.
