I know some girls who used them and had a good experince. I on the other hand walked out with my mom. They were very rude and ignored my mom and I.

I used them to order my dress and the bridesmaid dresses, so far so good. I have my dress , the bridesmaid dresses should be in real soon. I will let you know how alterations go.

Re: The Wedding Center in Commack
i was just there last thursday night with my FMIL for her 1st fitting. to say the salespeople were rude would be an understatement. they were absolutely miserable!!! there is also no cap on the alterations (my FMIL is paying $75 for a hem)!!!! there was only 1 seamstress there and she was running 45 minutes behind and made no apologies for it.
also - and this is kind of hard to explain - they do the alterations in a different building. since the dress is technically leaving the 1st building where you bought it - when you go for your first fitting, you owe the entire remaining balance in CASH!!!! my FMIL did not know this and wasn't prepared - luckily the woman let her use her ATM card. when the signs say 'balance due on pick-up' that is before alterations, not after. you are technically 'picking-up' the dress to bring it next door.
i would say buy your dress there because the prices are awesome, but i would bring it somewhere else for alterations.
good luck!!!

I have heard some bad things about them too. I went there anyway because my sister got her dress and all her bridesmaid dresses there. So far everything has been great. Some employees have attitudes. There is one lady, Helene, who is so nice. Try to get her to help you. They had my dress for the cheapest price around. I might get alterations done somewhere else though, since there is no cap.

I went out there to 'look' get a feel for what I wanted.. I actually had a great experience.. Really nice lady who took the time to get to know me and really helped out a ton. Knowing I wasn't going to buy a thing, mind you. I spent just about an hour there, no appointment nothing. Left with a great idea of what I wanted.
If I had bought my dress there (which I didnt) I wouldnt do alterations there. I heard about the no cap.
But overall the experience was fine.

Re: The Wedding Center in Commack
I had called them because I heard the dresses were cheaper and they were, but they charge for everything, including pressing the dress after alterations, so the dresses come out more expensive after all. I went to Centereach bridal and at least there is a cap on the dresses and they gave me a discount because we got my dress and all the other girls dresses there. Amy was really nice. One older woman there was real cranky , but I just dont deal with her when I am there. But in answer to your question, I havent heard anything good. I heard bad things about where I went to also though.... I guess you never know

Re: The Wedding Center in Commack
WOW! I'm so sorry you guys had such bad experiences with them. I was in my MOH's bridal party, five years ago and she ordered 6 BM dresses and MOB dress and we all had a great experience with them, the only thing that went wrong was I had my shoes dyed there and they gave my shoes to another girl in a completely different BP, luckily the girl who got my shoes was SO nice and brought them to me at the rehearsal dinner.
I went about 3 weeks ago with my mom, grandmother and MOH to look at MOB dresses, BM dresses and my gown. My mom worked with Helene who was a sweetie and she was more than satisfied and will be ordering her dress from there. I worked with Josephine who was SUPER nice and patient. She even encouraged me to shop around and try on more dresses elsewhere before making a decision but they would beat any price on the dresses....so far that is true! NOW, onto BM dresses, I was told that alterations are capped at $55 and as far as I can remember, there were no additional fees for pressing but I will make a point to ask next time. At this point I will probably be using them for me and BM's unless something awful happens next time I go.

THAT was the lady's name
JOSEPHINE
Yep she was a DOLL!!!
I went in with an idea.. she showed me all sorts of possibilities. I must have tried on 10 gowns. She was GREAT!!!!
I bought my dress from Macy's in Manhasset. Got a killer deal and a cap on alterations.
