i have no experience with dresses there but they try and sell you on ANYTHING and EVERYTHING...they kept asking me how much I paid for this vendor and that vendor and kept saying how I'd be paying less if I went with them...I found it very rude

Re: the wedding center of commack
ok... here is my opinion.
Go there. The prices are the cheapest, if you find it cheaper somewhere else, they match the price, give a discount and give you free stuff. they carry EVERYTHING
BUT.... do not expect to be 'helped' there is no real service with a smile, let alone service at all. I go there alot, and actually just have fun laughing at the miserable people
i hate the people there BUT, i have ordered dresses ive worn there, and my BMs are getting their dresses there.
Def go, but dont be uptight. Have fun with the lack of assistance......If there is a young girl there working, USE her... she actually likes her job

Re: the wedding center of commack
ive never had an issue... the dress i wore was altered there and it was fine. They also cap it if you buy your dress there, which was good for me since i was really short.
my BM dresses havent come in yet so i cant tell you about anything more recent

They are very grouchy there, but you're right about the prices. If you're a no-nonsense bride who doesn't require pampering (AT ALL!!!!), try it. I went there on a whim two weeks after getting engaged and found a discontinued dress for $199! They have a clearance area in the basement of the building across the parking lot (where the alterations are done). Not a magical experience, but you can't beat the price.

For a weekend, I would. During the week is so much more relaxing if you can do it.

Re: the wedding center of commack
hahah im the oposite... i say dont make an appt....
this way, while your waiting, you look on your own.
Here is my suggestion.
Look at all designers you like, and right down dresses and the colors the sample is in. this is how the organize the dresses. While waiting, look on your own..... this way you dont have to worry with them =)

Actually, I shouldn't be giving opinions on this being that I got mine in one day
I feel like I missed out a little on the experience

WEDDING CENTER STINKS
i have very strong opinions about this place! ive gotten 2 bridesmaids dresses there so ive dealt with them a decent about of times. EVERY SINGLE TIME i went in there i saw numerous girls either crying or yelling about problems they were having with their dress and/or the service. i actually found the dress of my dreams there. but when i told the girl that we had changed our tentative date from october to january and asked i should wait to order my dress a little longer, she said (I KID YOU NOT) 'you should wait as long as you can. ive seen this happen before plenty of times honey. AT YOUR AGE you are probably going to get PREGNANT and then youll be stuck with a dress you cant wear.'
?!:!#**!*!*!*!>!<!<>@< are you kidding me??? and the kicker????? i was 27 when we had this conversation last year!!!!
and i know the prices are great, but ya know what? i went to another salon and they BEAT THEIR PRICE!!!! any salon wants your business so tell them what the wedding center is charging if you find your dress there- and then see if theyll match it or beat it.
OOOO- AND wedding center will not store ANY dresses. as soon as they come in you have to go and pick it up. YUP. boo to them!
