The Wedding Center/Beautiful Bride - stressed!

So.. I'm trying to track down a specific desinger and the 2 places that carry it on LI is The Wedding Center and Beautiful Bride.
I called The wedding center yesterday to make an appt - the woman on the phone told me NO APPT NECESSARY. She never asked me what day or anything. So I call today to find out their hours for tomorrow.. and the lady i get on the phone today tells me YOU NEED AN APPT. Ok.. now I'm a little annoied. So I told her about the convo I had yesterday where I was told I don't need an appt. So apparantly you need appts for Sundays only.. but again the first lady (who was nice on the phone) NEVER asked me what day I wanted to come in. So back to the lady from today (who by the way had a MAJOR attitude!)... I asked her if they had any open appts for tomorrow.. her response and I quote was 'NO NOT REALLY'. What kind of answer is that? She is working in customer service and retail.. that's not the appropriate answer! If the answer is no.. then you always come back with a way you can help the customer out... for example.. I'm sorry we are all booked tomorrow but we have some openings for the following sunday. You dont just say NO NOT REALLY with an attitude and leave it at that! So I just said.. OH OK.. and paused.. to wait for her to say something else. Which she didn't so I asked if they carry this particular designer.. and she stil had a rude response.. so then I said.. you know what.. I see there's another store on LI who carries this designer, I'm going to give them a call and check with them first. She then HUNG UP ON ME! Ha ha! What is that? Now she had an attitude from the beginning, and I explained how I was given mis-information and instead of appologizing she still kept up with her nasty attitude. Little does she know.. I HAVE CASH ON ME TO MAKE A DRESS PURCHASE TOMORROW! So she just lost out on a sale! I was prepared to go in and actually find and buy my dress! Now with the discrepencies between the 2 employees and her major attitude.. even if they had a better dress price.. I couldn't buy a dress from that place!

Sorry for the rant...but those of you who went to The Wedding Center, what did you think of that place?
Also, those of you who went to Beautiful Bride.. what are your thoughts?
Positive or Negative.. I want to know both sides. I also want to know if you think I am overreacting. But I judge a stores responsibility from the moment our interaction begins... which is usually on the phone making the appointment. If they can't treat me properly on the phone what must they be like in person... and if 2 workers can't give me the same information over the phone.. what would it be like to order the most important dress of my life from that place? If they cant get information sharing down right.. then how will they be able to order my dress without errors or f*cking up?

What do you guys think about this?

Uhhh! That sounds horrible! I cannot believe that you had such a terrible experience with wedding center. I actually went to Beautiful Brides and I would not recommend it to anyone. I was in a wedding party and one of the girls in the bridal party had it out with the woman bc she wasnt doing what she was asking for her alterations, which I assure you were not at all asking too much.

One of the other girls alterations were done, her hem was uneven, the woman actually told her to pull one side of the dress down so it would look even! What is that?!!?!??! Also, when I ordered I asked her to order me a size up of the sample size, it was a little tight on the top and I wanted to make sure I was comfortable. She told me that I could lose weight and the dress would be fine! ummm, ok lady! So that was our experience!

I had a bad experience with them also, they completely ignore you when you walk in their and you have to interupt their personal conversation to get attention more than one time. its a family owned company so it doesn't even make sense complaining to them because most of them are related I heard.

We orignally went there because they were they only store we could find that had Essence of Australia for my sister's wedding. So my sister decided to get our dresses there. The service was nothing to right home about but no major issues. There is one lady there that really should change profession. However there are some other ladies that are really nice an helpful. I dont remember the name of the one who helped me with my dress. But she was great. I had a vision and she help me try like 15 dresses and I wasnt feeling the vision anymore. Then she said you know alow me to pick one and she did.. the one. So she was great in my book. but that lady you spoke with must be the same that always has an attitude.

my experience was ok.. i was there on a VERY slow night so i was given some more attention. but when i was there a while ago with my sister i didn't feel like they were very nice. like most places i'm sure it depends on who you see or talk to. i would call and speak to management and let them know how unprofessional she was.

thats the EXACT designer I am looking for!
The 2 places on LI that carry it are the ones I mentioned and then there's a place in the Bronx called GOWNS BY LOUISE.... anyone know anything about that place? I'm trying to find the best place to get this dress from.. the most hassle free and the least likely place to turn into a Bridal Couture story! I'm beginning to get stressed! I FINALLY found a designer who I absoluetly fell in love with and now I come to find out they only supply to stores with bad customer service and bad reviews! this is sooo disapointing.

You are talking about the wedding center right?

Hey.. just an FYI with the wedding center.. My sis had to order a sample to try on.. they didnt actually have it there , only took a couple a days and had to pay for the shipping. My sister did confirm this with Esscense themselves.

There was 2 other places we were going to look at , but they were closed on the days we could go so never did. ill find out their names . one was in Mahasset on Northern..

OK so I'm definately NOT getting anything from The Wedding Center!

Beautiful Bride... eh... I will call them in the morning to see if they have the exact style dress I am looking for. (I think they are closed now because the phone just rings and rings and rings.)

I made an appointment with Reba Brides in NJ for tomorrow at 1:30. They carry the designer but they definately do not have the 2 styles I am looking to try on and for them to order a sample I have to pay $50. Which *****. I didn't do it yet.. I figured if i go for the appointment and I like them and the dresses then I'll do that. So LAWOMAN - apparantly this seems to be the trend. And literally while I was reading what you wrote the lady on the phone was saying EXACTLY what you wrote me! It was quite a freaky moment! But because of your message, I felt a little better about the info she gave me.

There's 2 other places I left messages with and I'm hoping they have the style numbers I am looking for. That's Gowns by Louise in the Bronx, and Ally's Bridal & Tuxedos in Hoboken NJ.

Then I also called and left a message, wrote an email and contacted the sales rep from Kleinfelds to see if MAYBE perhaps, hopefully they have Essence of Australia! But I doubt it because it doesn't list the designer on the web site and Kleinfelds isn't listed on the Essence site either. It's a long shot... but I'm desperate and doing EVERYTHING I can to track these 2 dresses down.

So, although I just went from being EXTATIC thinking I found my dress and I will be ordering it tomorrow... now I am stressed out beyond belief... but I know there's nothing more I can do about it until tomorrow morning. So I will try to relax now.... it's going to be hard though.. because all that's running thorugh my mind are stores and essence of australia dresses and the B*tch who hung up on me! And appointments and the 2 specific style numbers I'm looking for. AAhhhh... it will be ok! I'm DEFINATLEY drinking tonight!
