Has anyone gotten their gown here? Do you have any feedback, good or bad? There is a gown I love, and they have it there, but I feel like I have seen not so great things posted here about them...

they have really good prices, but their customer service is abominable. see if you can find your gown at burton's, they have a better reputation.

you can also check helen's bridal (it is inside Wedding World) for what I heard Wedding center have a bad reputation among brides here

i got my dress at helen's bridal in commack...they might have the same one..i would check it out..because they were soooooooooo nice there. i loved them!!!

I bought my dress there with no problems, in fact everything came in early. The bridal dept. is good, and the two older ladies are the best at knowing what is going to look good. The bridesmaid dept is another story. The dresses still came in early with no major problems. One of my BM was getting her dress shipped to her in FL. however nobody told her or me that someone has to come in to inspect the dress before it can be sent. So her dress sat there for almost 3 wks. They also could be nicer to their customers all my BM complained about the snotty attitude.
They have good prices and a big selection, I would recommend them.

someone i know just told me how upset they are with this place, and how she is reporting them to BBB. From what she told me, i wouldnt reccomend them

Check out Wedding World- we got our BM dresses from there and some other things and they have been great!!

I'm using TWC for several other things (not my gowns, though) and while they were fantastic to me for a while, I walked out of there crying the last 2 times that I was there because I was verbally attacked by BOB and his son-in-law RICH for no apparent reason. It seems that asking them a question that they don't want to be asked warrants getting yelled at. You can FM me for more info if you'd like, but I would seriously recommend against using them!!!
ETA: Their Tux guy in the basement is REALLY rude too...he can't fathom why my FH wants to wear a black vest and not an ivory one and got nasty with us every time we went there to look (and then order). If I hear 'Well what do I know?!? I've only been doing this for 30 years now...and you've been planning a wedding for what? 1 year? Oh, so you must know better than me' one more time I'm going to snap & start yelling back...rather than tear up like a big fat baby...
Wedding CENTER people are @$$holes, Wedding WORLD are awesome! I am a Wedding World bride, I am using them for photo, video, flowers, and tuxes. My gown and my girls gown's are from Helen's and I go there sometimes just to talk to the ladies there. Everyone is so so sweet and they will match any price! I got my gown for the same price as Wedding Center AND they gave me my veil for FREE!!

That's wild! I didn't know they had video and photo too! Do you have any idea of how much their packages start at? Where is wedding world?

I went to the wedding center with my best friend last year for her wedding and Bob was walking around yelling across the store and being annoying while there was a crowd of girls waiting around. He wasn't helping anyone. The only reason I knew his name was that he ended up getting in a argument with a customer who was complaining that she wasn't allowed to look at the bridal gowns without an escort and she wanted to know why they needed her name in order to look. He was yelling at her and told her that it was his store and if she didn't like it she could leave. Does he think he is the only store out there? I also justread a complaint on the 09 board about their seamstresses and Bob telling someone to learn how to sew. What a moron! They also remove the tags from dresses and give them their own stock number so if you see one there that you like, you will not know who makes it unless you buy it from them.
The fact that they feel it appropriate to yell at people ane make them cry is nuts!
I wouldn't buy anything from them after what I saw there and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone either! They are trouble. I bet you'd find out a lot of info if you checked them out on the site for the BBB.

I got my gown there...I was really nervous once I read all the bad reviews, but I didn't have any problems. The staff is gruff and a little rude, but you're not paying for the service. My dress was about $500 less than I saw it anywhere else and they were able to rush order it for me when I changed my mind about my first gown.
Bad service, good results

wedding WORLD is located in commack on austin blvd. right off motor parkway.. really easy to find!! I LOVE THEM!!! they are soooo different from TWC. i am so happy i got my dress from wedding world... liz helped me and she was awesome!!
I got my dress, BM's and FG's dresses there they were great and extra helpful!!!
I know they have bad reviews but if they have the dress you want check it out and see how you feel, you can always leave.

I hated the wedding center I have no idea why they are still open the ladies that work there are just rude I couldn't understand them

I got my gown from the wedding center. I have read a lot of bad reviews about them on LIW, but I have to say that I didn't think they were that bad. My dress did come in a couple weeks later than it was supposed to, but I'm pretty sure that was the manufacturers fault. When I got the dress it was in great condition with nothing wrong with it (although I have read posts from other brides about finding stains on their gowns). And the dress was about $200 cheaper than it was at another bridal salon I had been to. The only negative thing I saw was their customer service. It's not the best but it's also no awful. I felt like everyone there was nice and helpful to me (especially in the invitations dept.) The only thing I foud strange was when some of the women who work there were gossiping about another customer right in front of me (not very professional in my opinion). So, basically, I would recommend them if you care more about saving $ than the customer service. When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter what the service is like, the dress will look the same either way. HTH!
