So for some reason, I really do not want to walk down the aisle to the Wedding March ('Here comes the bride'..). Not really sure what it is, but whenever I hear it I know it's not for me.
Anyone else feel that way? What song are you walking down the aisle to? Suggestions for good classical/instrumental songs?
Thanks in advance!

I love Con Te Partiro. That was my forst choice, but FH didn't like it, so I'm going with Yanni's In the Morning Light. It's a beautiful piano instrumental.

Lots of people don't use the wedding march for a variety of reasons. Canon in D is very popular, and I may use Greensleeve for myself or the BP.
If you ask your ceremony musicians I'm sure they can give you advice. We're looking at cappricio ensemble (an LIW vendor) and they sent me their CD to hear their playing, but it also gave me some 30 songs to consider!
My reason for not using it, as I have said before is that Wagner, who wrote it, was a known anti-semite and Mendelssohn who wrote the corresponding recessional was a convert to Christianity. Not that there is anything wrong with conversion but thats how it goes. That is why a person would rarely, if ever, hear either at a Jewish wedding.
I'm not using it for the same reason.

I'm walking down the aisle to Ave Maria (just instrumental). I think it sounds beautiful.

My Temple and Rabbi do not allow it for this reason. I've also been told that it is NEVER heard anywhere in Israel.
My Rabbi is going to help me find something, as I don't have much musical knowledge.
