it's under new management. Fh spoke to someone there this morning because we were thinking of reserving rooms there. She said they've been bought by a different company but the staff and the accomodations are all the same. She's going around calling the girls that have reserved rooms there today.

La Quinta is a large chain of hotels. So i guess they took it over.

that's weird because a lot of girls here have booked rooms through them. i hope nothing's changed...especially their reputation.

yeah i was wondering the same thing, especially since some booked already and sent out info to guests about blocked rooms

I haven't. They emailed me to tell me that rooms were available. And I wrote back saying that I wanted to block them...and requested the info I should give my guests.
I haven't heard anything yet....

I just called....and got the front desk guy. He switched me to the sales rep but noone answered. He seemed alittle overwhelmed and didn't give me much info before he switched me but he did say that bar parties weren't guaranteed. I am wondering about my block, shuttles, brunch...etc......you know all the wonderful things that led me to block rooms.
If anyone hears keep us posted....thanks

I've already blocked off rooms at the Wingate and booked up my honeymoon suite for the night of the wedding... i'm not home right now though, i'm in Pittsburgh... i'll let you guys know, i'm sure my mom will call me the second someone calls her about something!

That suxxxx I talked to my rep there last week when I booked my suite and she mentioned nothing of the new mgt. grrrrr

that is crazy.....shouldnt they be contacting you guys if the mgmt changed? b/c you made arrangements with wingate not laquinta....and if that wingate doesn't exist anymore shouldn't someone be informing you?

hmmm thats weird.....i heard so many great things about the wingate and was thinking of blocking rooms there for our wedding........hopefully laquinta gives just as much as the wingate did!! or else we can all go down there and kick their butts lol

I also blocked rooms there and my bridal suite and I knew they were changing owners but nothing is going to change. If you have a contract it is still binding

Don't worry girls. My dad worked there when it was Wingate and does now also. They are just changing the look a little. Anything that is written in your contract will stay. Nothing will be changed. So whatever you booked will be the same. They liked how the Wingate was run and hope to keep it a little similar. They are just going to make some changes to it but all of your contracts will be fine and they will honor them.
