The Woodlands
Soooo on my crazy quest for a unique venue with great food and decent pricing I decided to email a bunch of venues. I got pricing and capacities for them. Some were automatic nos because they would not be able to accommodate my guest list. Even though I expected Woodlands at Woodbury to be way out of budget which initially they were, I was able to get 25 off the pp price right over the phone based on my guest minimum and telling them I was on a budget. I am going to view the venue soon. Any woodlands brides can share their experience regarding food, the people you worked with, did they throw in any extras? I am sooooo excited right now just based on pictures I have seen and the pricing. I am still going to talk them down a little.

Did they work with your requests? Throw in any freebies or work with you on pricing?

The Woodlands - Long Island Weddings
I got married there in September and the reception was amazing. Literally everything I asked for was done the right way. The food was incredible. People are still raving about it and said it was by far the best wedding food (especially the filet mignon). I worked with Debi throughout the planning process and Steve at the last few meetings. They were both fantastic and they def went above and beyond for us. If you have any other questions feel free to FM me. Def go check the venue out and see what you think!

The Woodlands - Long Island Weddings
I also got married there in September. We were overall happy with the venue but there were a few issues along the way, and especially the day of, that we were very disappointed with. Steve is not a friendly person and we didn't enjoy working with him at all, but Debi, Erika and Gerard (the bridal attendants) were all fabulous. We didn't care for the maitre d either and i will be honest with you and tell you no one ever told me his name, so i can't even tell you what it was. Feel free to FM me if you are interested in hearing the details. It truly is a beautiful venue with so much to offer, and the food was excellent, but it needs new management for sure…at least in my opinion...I can see other brides have had positive experiences which is nice to hear.Edited to mention that they have a type of points program where you get points for every house vendor you use, and if you get enough points they will let you select an extra from a list of a few things…i don't remember all of them but some of the choices were the more expensive passed hors d'ouvres, a martini bar, a margarita bar, etc. We chose the ice cream sundae and flambe bar. Unfortunately half of our guests one the opposite side of the room never knew it was there because no one told us it was out and no one bothered to ask theband to make an announcement. It was pretty much a waste but thankfully we didn't pay for it.
