The Woodlands and The Vanderbilt Mansion - Oakdale

Last weekend we saw the Woodlands for an October 2009 wedding and we loved it!

Tomorrow we are going to see the Vanderbilt and the Bourne Mansion. We are hoping to have around 150-170 people but I read on some reviews that it might be a little tight at the Vanderbilt. I didn't think that would be a problem since the Vanderbilt's site said they can hold a maximum of 175 people. Has anyone been to the Vanderbilt for a wedding? Would 150 be too tight?

Does anyone have any reviews of the Woodlands, the Vanderbilt, and the Bourne? Any advice or recommendations?

Anything would be appreciated! We would like to book something this weekend! Thanks!

I had my wedding at The Woodlands 3 weeks ago. Everything was perfect. Everyone kept complimenting me on the place and how it was the nicest wedding they ever been to. I have nothing but, rave reviews. The food was also great.

I am so jealous of your date at the Woodlands. We are getting married there in June but I wanted a Fall wedding there so badly but it wouldn't work with our plans....what an amazing place - it is perfect for Fall and Winter - fireplaces, charm, a beautiful golfcourse outside....I think Fall would be awesome there. I'm not sure about your other choices but I saw a lot of places and once I stepped into the Woodlands, I knew it was where I wanted my wedding to be. All I've heard is how good the food is and how pretty it is so I would say lots of thumbs up for that place and see what you think of the others. If you click on 'search' and type ineither of the places, it should give you a better idea. Good luck!

I'm having my wedding at the Vanderbilt Mansion next September with about 130-150. I think it's probably too tight to fit 175 but you could make it work if you needed to. If you think you're going to be on the higher side though, your better off going with one of your other two venues.

The Woodlands is Amazing!!!!!! I can't stress that enough! we got married there in Nov 2007. Unfortunately, I never posted a review, but I do have some pictures in my album that you should check out.

The food was fantastic, service was great, everyone always had a drink in hand. And like you said, it was just perfect for a fall wedding with the fireplaces on and the whole mansion atmosphere. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was the place.

I agree that the Woodlands is amazing! I got married there in November 2005 (my review is on the brides review board if you do a search). Everything was perfect.

we just got married at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale, I think the max is 150 so its going to be tight, you can only have 15 tables that hold 10 people. I would suggest the Bourne mansion if your wedding is over 150 but just know there is a $4000 site fee you have to pay st. johns.
