The World Series.....

The World Series.....

Anyone watch the game last night? How dumb was that mistake by Supon. He should have scored. An error like that is fine if it was the regular season but you don’t make an error like that in the World Series. That is inexcusable.

The RedSox are one game away from winning the world series and removing the curse.

Even as a Cardinals fan, I have to agree. It also kills me that the Sox have had EIGHT errors in the series so far but the Cards have failed to capitalize on them.

In his defense, Suppan said that he heard the coach saying 'No No No' when of course he was really saying 'Go Go Go'. I'm not sure how much base-running experience he has as a pitcher. Still....ugh....

Re: The World Series.....

That is the one thing that I hate about the National League. Pitchers should not be batting. It's like they don't really know about hitting or how to run around the bases. Can't they change the silly rules??? LOL

The Sox are lucky that they are winning with all the errors they've had...

I still want them to win, but I do feel bad for the cardinals at the same time.

I totally agree with what you are saying TwoBugs. Esp. the fact that 8 errors were committed by the Sox in two games .. and they still rolled over the Cards.

Aside from the Suppan faux pas, what really made me laugh was that they WALKED PEDRO last night. I mean, that is simply ridiculous. Pedro cannot hit. He is an AL pitcher. Throw three strikes over the plate and get rid of him! He nearly looked annoyed that he had to break a sweat and run the bases.

The Cards are handing this over to the Sox on a silver platter, just like the Yankees did in the last 4 games of the ALCS.

And to think that going into the post season, NOONE thought the Cards could be beat by ANY AL team ..t ST. Louis was everyone's sure bet to win it all

I'm not bitter -- but as a diehard Yankee fan I will always hate the fact that I am sitting here witnessing the Sox on the brink of winning the WS... I still cannot stand seeing them this close to victory.

But really at this point, they deserve it! Noone else has shown any heart or desire to give them a run for the title

Re: The World Series.....

This Boston team just overmatches the Cards in every department (except for Defense). But with all the errors the Sox are making... and they are still WINNING... I think the ghost of Babe Ruth is now back playing on the Red Sox's side.

Oh... and as far as pitchers batting... thats the way the game SHOULD be played. The DH is the gayest rule in all of professional sports. Totally takes the 'strategy' part out of the game.

The Sox aren't even playing great baseball, though - they're just playing the game least poorly. I am convinced that my beloved Astros would have given them a better fight than the Cards are...

I have to disagree. I am not a sox fan but so far they have been playing like they want to win...them coming back and beating the yankees proves it. forget the errors they have made.

Ditto on all counts. The Sox aren't playing great baseball, but their competition isn't even trying (that goes for the Yankees and the Cards) And I do think the 'Stros would have given them more of a run for their money, and at least made for some more interesting games overall

Unless you are a diehard Sox fan (or one of millions who have decided to jump on the bandwagon and are pulling for them), this has been an incredibly boring WS. [insert yawning emoticon here]

Their series with the Yankees was great - agreed. An incredible achievement. This series, I haven't been impressed by them so much as I've been embarrased by the Cardinals.

But Felicia's right - no one is giving them a run for the money. And for that, I guess they deserve to win.

This can only be boring for a yankee fan.

I disagree. Being a Yankee fan has nothing to do with it. As a baseball fan, I was looking forward to seeing two teams playing good ball and for the fans to witness some nailbiting, close games. What we got instead was a RedSox team that is playing sloppy (yet winning) and a Cards team that didnt even bother to show up.

SO objectively, as a BASEBALL fan, this has been an incredibly boring WS. You, like everyone else, are caught up in the hype of seeing the Sox 'break the curse' .. and that equates 'excitement' to everyone. To the fan who is not caught up in that hoopla, this remains a boring series.

The RedSox have some of the most loyal fans in this entire country , fans who have been waiting their entire lives for this moment - I do not blame them for being ecstatic and out of their minds with glee. They should be! Their team did some amazing things this post-season and kicked the Yankees A$$es. THAT was an accomplishment.

Still doesn't change the fact that the WS is incredibly dull.

Well... apparently its not boring enough to prevent watching.

Linky

This is one of the highest watched World Series matchups since 1995. You may think its 'dull baseball'... but if it was that dull (like the last few Yankee WS)... the ratings would take a hit.

It has been a pretty ho hum WS so far.......(but we know what happens sometimes with 3-0 series...don't we?)

AND...

If I see the commerical for the guy putting a motorcycle in the bed of his Dodge Dakota Quad Cab (and then his wife punching him the stomach when she thinks he didn't bring home a goofy looking piece of furniture which just so happens to fit in the back seat) one more time...I think I will spontaneously combust into a large green ball of fire and wink out of existence.

interpretation: i was really hoping to see the cards get some retribution for me, and it's killing me to see the sox dominate

but yet, does your hatred for this commercial prevent you from stopping in the middle of our conversations to intently stare , trance-like, at the tv screen each & everytime this (or any commercial containing a motor vehicle advertisment for that matter) comes on?

I think not

Puhleeze....

You mean to tell me that in your HONEST opinion , you truly think this has been an 'exciting' World Series? I'm talking as a baseball fan in general (and putting aside the fact that you are getting great joy in seeing the Sox do well, adding to many a Yankee fans disgust, which in turn greatly amuses you

speaking of commercials, i know you're not a football fan, but i love those miller lite commericals where the referee interrupts the commercial with a football penalty on anyone not drinking miller lite

It's just boring baseball. There's no excitement, tension, suspense, or emotion. There are no breakthrough performances. It's just...there.

That said, I would rather watch 9 innings of insanely boring baseball than another 30 seconds of that Quad Cab commercial!!
