The 'Your Dream House' thread!

Original post by CubanBride

Exquisitely crafted by Ray Coudriet, designed by famed Nasrallah Fine Architecture and stunning interiors by Marc-Michaels. This property is magnificent! Truly designed to replicate an Italian Tuscan estate overlooking the Mediterranean. It is a model of perfection with all the finishes one would expect to find in authentic Tuscan design – marble and stone flooring, stately Corinthian columns under soaring coffered ceilings, curved walls, winding balconies with ornate iron works, hand-carved corbels, a travertine terrace embracing a gourmet kitchen with barrel brick ceiling and gracious living areas on a grand scale. To greet you – a 29’ marble Grand Foyer with rotunda ceiling, stone columns and a dramatic 2-story winding staircase leading to twin iron balconies. Silks, damasks and custom features throughout. 5 Bedroom suites, 26’ climate-controlled Wine Cellar, 20’ Office, 30’ Media Rm. opening to 40’ lakefront Balcony with Wet Bar, 28’ lakefront Veranda with retractable motorized screens & gas fireplace, heated Pool, Cabana with Summer Kitchen, detached Guest/Staff Quarters. 4-car Garage. Boat House, Dock. All rooms have lakefront balconies – Imagine the views on this peninsula!

Re: The 'Your Dream House' thread!

This is the most expensive house in the United States and it is right here in Bridgehampton, NY. It costs $75MM.

THREE PONDS FARM ESTATE - BRIDGEHAMPTON

Situated on over 60 acres of rolling farmland, this remarkable waterfront compound has been designed and built with a commitment to excellence. A magnificent collaboration between three brilliant architects, each a master of his field. The architect of record, Allan Greenberg, L.L.D., is regarded as one of the prime interpreters of classicism who has worked on The White House, Princeton University, and Rockefeller Center. The Golf Course (U.S.G.A. rated 18 hole) was designed by renowned golf-course architect Rees Jones, designer of many of the highly-rated courses including Atlantic Golf Club and The Bridge. Landscape architect Edmund D. Hollander, P.C., is among the foremost designers in his field. His inspired transformation of the terrain of this unique property is already legendary. The Gardens, 14 in all, include a traditional English cottage garden, a crabapple allee, a lily walk, a potager (French for vegetable gardens) as well as hydrangea, butterfly and world class rose gardens. Green carpeted grounds are punctuated by three pristine ponds stocked with bass, perch and pickerel. The 75 ft. flush edge pool with its own pavilion and the grass tennis court are the definition of leisurely living. Hamptons-based Breitenbach Builders was responsible for executing the plans. The firm incorporated the highest caliber of materials, craftsmanship and unsurpassable quality in this prestigious project. Internationally acclaimed interior designer Michael Christiano added a master's finesse. Outbuildings include a beautiful guest cottage on 4 acres, pool house, storage silo, barns, pro shop and a unique fish house and Orangerie.

Re: The 'Your Dream House' thread!

I am not really feeling to good. Considering the house I bought smelled like cat and dog piss and i still didn't get to move into it and I bought it two years ago in April. One day it would be nice to have a 75 million dollar house or even a 400,000 dollar house.

I know it's nothing compared to those homes. But I see potential!
This is the old Woolworth estate presently up for sale. I'm not sure for how much but you would probable need 2x's as much just to fix it up!
I would give anything to live in one of the old great gold coast homes. They are so rare now.

This one is in Newport Beach, CA.

Fari built/designed masterpiece on premier Pelican Hill site. Unabashedly elegant estate blends classical style, modern luxury. Spacious home on oversized lot with six bedrooms, nine bathrooms. Approximately 137 feet of golf course frontage, riveting ocean views. Two master suites, library, two bonus rooms, home theatre, and elevator. Infinity pool/spa, exercise room with steam/sauna, 6 to 8 car garage.[/QUOTE.

I grew up in Westlake Village/ Agoura Hills CA those pictures do not do it justice

Re: The 'Your Dream House' thread!

Hmmm, maybe I'm too practical, but at this point, my dream house is as follows:

*In Nassau, reasonable commute to NYC
*At least 3 bedrooms
*At least 1 1/2 baths
*Has a garage (1 car or detached is okay, but a garage)
*Taxes below $10,000
*Has a basement (doesn't have to be finished, just a basement)
*In a reasonably good school district
*In reasonably good shape--some repairs are okay, but I don't want to completely redo the house
*While I'm dreaming, I'll throw a dining room into the mix
*Not built on the edge of a highway or a train line

I'm thinking this qualifies for the dream house category, because they just don't seem to be available at the moment!
