Hi ladies....I am in the very, very beginning of planning and I was thinking about themes. We are looking for an Oct/Nov wedding date, which, in my mind, would be perfect for a fall theme. And fall is one of my favorite times of the year. But then I was also thinking, since my FH is Chinese American and I am Irish American, a sort of East meets West theme. Any suggestions? Any thoughts on combining to two??

Re: Theme Ideas
I'm Irish-American, and DH is Bengali-American. We didn't really incorporate that into our theme; however, we got married in typical American attire, attended the CH in that, and then changed into Indian stuff for our intro to the reception...wore that for about half of the reception, and changed back into the American stuff for the last half of the reception.
We also had our hall provide some Bengali/Indian stuff for the CH, which was a big hit!
Just a couple of ideas that you could use...clothes and food are an easy way to represent cultures!

Re: Theme Ideas
I'm also getting married in Oct and plan to get married at the Sand Castle (thats #1 on th list right now) and the do pumpkin carvings in addition to ice carving! That would make a fall/halloween theme really easy.
