Theme: Is it ok if I dont incorporate it into everything?
I have an autumn theme for the reception hall. Lots of leaves, goards and candles. The girls will be in burgandy with matching roses. But I wanted to do everything silver and white for the church - programs, direction cards and everything else ceremony related. The STD's I sent out were charcoal grey. I havent decided on invites yet, and I dont know what color to use. With all these colors, does this sound ok, or am I just all over the place with this?

I think its ok. What I dont like is something my sister saw at a wedding this weekend. The bride and groom had a christmas theme at the cocktail hour... but once you got into the reception there was no more christmas anything. Except for the favors.. they were ornaments with the couples names. She said it was really cute at the CH and she walked into the room expecting even more and was dissapointed.

JMHO I like everything to match- but I don't think it would be wrong to do it your way especially if the ceremony and the reception are being held at two different locations.

So for invitations what color should I go for? Silver/grey (to match STD's and ceremony) or brown/burgandy (to match autumn theme)?

i would say match the invites with the theme of the wedding.
I do not think everything has to match -
everything sounds lovely!

I honestly think you should go w/ whatever invite catches your eye. - No one is going to remember if the invite they rec'd 2 months prior matches the ceremony or the reception.........Keep an open mind and find something that just pops out @ you ........

I sort of disagree. Some people may bring the invite with them to the ceremony/reception because it has the directions or info with it. I think you should match the invites to the wedding theme and perhaps add the color burgundy into your ceremony program. (You can keep the silver and white but add a touch of burgundy to make it complementary.) JMO

Diva.....I think silvers would be fine for your church and then go with the fall stuff for the reception hall. Sounds all good to me. Its gonna be so pretty!
