Ok.. so even before me and FH were officially engaged i knew what i wanted... colors..style..theme.. i mean it's all negotiable.. but i really loved the idea of old hollywood.. with a touch of winter elegance. Now i know i'm getting married nov. 7th and technically it's the fall.. but so far no one i've mentioned it to seems to have a problem with it.. i mean it's not the 1940's either but i can get away with that right? lmao. But my aunt's friend keeps on making me feel like i can not do winter!!! She used to be a florist and she said oh your never gonna get blue flowers and you can't do winter flowers either. I'm not saying i want christmas trees and mistletoe... but my colors are like a dark icy turquoise and black with silver and white accents. I love the idea of having lots of crystals with a winter feel .. like an ice storm almost.. but i also want a 40's hollywood touch..just that classy style that was so standard back then...if that makes any sense...lmao. Does anyone think i'm nuts? I'm not into the fall theme.. no offense to anyone who is doing it... but it's just not what i pictured although i think the colors look beautiful.. it's not me. We chose november cause the weather is still pretty decent..the prices were a lot better and we were able to get all the vendors we wanted.. Do you think i can pull it off?? I usually don't let other people get to me..but i'm like extra sensitive this week.. arggg!!! sorry had to vent!

thanks i always tell people the same thing..but after awhile of hearing it over and over it's like geez.. am i doing something so outrageous?? lmao. I mean it's a theme cause it's based on something that isn't exactly real.. when u have a 80's theme party everyone knows it's still 2007..lmao. Everyone i've told so far loves the idea..but i keep hearing her voice in my head going oh no u can't do that...
lol!

Re: Theme issues....
Personally I love your theme & I think that you are close enough to the season that you will be fine- maybe you wont be able to get those color flowers- but you can always accent it with colored beads or something unusual in the bok. the most important thing is that you are happy- so if this is what you want- then go for it!

I would do it just to prove her wrong lol.
Their are always fake flowers as well. You can get some really realistic ones these days. I think it would be beautiful.
