Please tell me what you think about this idea - I will not be insulted if you think it is cheezy
FH is an avid fisherman. Fluke, flounder, etc. I was thinking of purchasing a nice card stocl in various colors - cut out fish shapes in place card size to write names on and then a larger version in corresponding color to place on table in the little stands - each table would be a different color.

i apologize to anyone who this offends, BUT....
that seems like a lot of work for something people are going to say, hmmm....cute and then toss once they are at their seat.

Hmm.. To have to match up colors or shapes may be a bit confusing since people are used to looking for numbers or names.. Could you still go with fish shapes as place cards but use fish names or table numbers to identify the tables?
Its nice you want to incorporate something your FH enjoys like fishing..

Thanks - I should have mentioned that there will still be a # on everything like normal - just instead of a rectangle or square it'll be a fish shape.

Maybe you could find some cool fish rubber stamps instead and use that somehow? seems like it would be easier and might look cool.....? I like the idea of incorporating it, but it does sound like a lot of work!
