There is a THIEF where I work! (Vent)

Just 3 months to the big day and I have to get up $3000 for the honeymoon....due July 22nd. My fiance can't help out because he is paying for other things and is totally tapped out. This is all stressful enough, but the problem is...I HATE my job! I hate it so bad I cry going,... want to cry while I'm there, and cry on my way home! I NEED TO FIND ANOTHER JOB, LIKE YESTERDAY!
I work as an office manager for a prominent jewelry chain. The day before Christmas someone (in house) stole a $7,000 pair of diamond stud earrings. My company's Loss Prevention came down and we were all grilled and threatened...they said that if this happens again the whole staff will be fired. Now, low and behold a week ago we are missing a $2,000 Diamond Watch.
And then as of last night, a $10,000 Princess Engagement Ring vanished. I CAN'T work with people I don't trust. I am constantly on edge wondering who did this. Now we are all going to be grilled again and possibly lose our jobs anyway! PLEASE PLEASE if anyone knows of or needs an office manager/secretary/retail manager please...let me know! This situation is just too stressful and I have too much going on right now to worry about this crap!! Thanks for listening girls!

That is AWFUL.

Doesn't the store have cameras in place that they can review? And why wasn't everyone searched every night as they left? This is what my old job used to do when something was stolen. You'd think there would be a better loss prevention plan than 'fire everyone' when jewels are involved!

I am so stressed and depressed. Yes, we have cameras, but loss prevention never finds anything on the tapes...

Sounds really fishy. I mean it's a small store, sounds like the people that need to be fired are the lost prevention people!

i'm really sorry about your situation. i don't know of any jobs, but i feel your pain. i'm looking for a job right now too, and i had something stolen from my desk at work. a really nice portable cd player and headphones. i'm almost sure it was the cleaning staff since things have gone missing after hours before, but there's really nothing i can do. i have no proof. oh well. good luck if you start looking for a new job. try all the online sites and newspapers.

I hope you don't loose your job! What about the people trying to prevent this? Obviously something isn't working! They need a new system!
