Thermal Reconditioning

Thermal Reconditioning

My friend is getting this done and it will cost her approximately $500. 2 people are working on her hair. How much do you think she should tip? She was thinking of $100.00 if it was just one person doing her hair. But being 2 people are working on it she was thinking of $75 a piece. Do you think it is too much or just enough? Thanks ladies.

Out of curiousity, where is your friend having it done? My sister is having it done on the 20th @ Salon Ishi in NYC.

I can't wait to see what it's going to look like.

In regards to your tip question, I would probably do $60 - 75 each.

Re: Thermal Reconditioning

I'm in the salon business and see lots of japanese straightenings and have been to some classes. If 2 people are doing the straightening, the tipping should be equal unless it's obvious one is just assisting when necessary...it is IS necessary at certain times in the process. If the salon's charging $500, then 50 each is enough. Depending on her length and thickness of her hair, it will take 4-5 hrs.

I know this ia a little off the topic her but I just want to comment on the process. My cousin had her hair doan at Salon Ishi and I cant believe how great it came out. She loves it. When she first told me about it I thought she was crazy spending that much money and that it would never work. Boy was I wrong - her hair is beautiful!

She is getting it done on Long Island. I am not sure of the salon. Thank you so much for the input.

Re: Thermal Reconditioning

I am considering getting thermal reconditioning done. I have natural wavy thick hair and i blow it straight and use a flat iron too sometimes. I was wondering how well does this really work? I've been told that your hair will dry pin straight? Has anyone here got it done? and how often do you need to get your roots done? Its a lot of money to spend and I want to make sure it works. Help!

This sounds interesting, tell us more!! What if you dye your hair and get it highlighted can you still do it?
