These are a few of my favorite things!!!

I'm up waiting on laundry to dry, before my final goodnight. Thought this kind of thread might be interesting.

Flannel pj's when it's cold!!
Old fashioned mac and cheese
Watching Anne of Green Gables, while sitting in Hubby's Monster Chair
Looking at Thomas Kinkade Paintings
A baby blue hydrangea
Rainbows, of which I saw two today!!
Swinging on our backyard garden swing
Having woman to woman chats with my Daughters
Having tea and tea party food
TastyKakes
Eating at Red Lobster or The Olive Garden
Holding a baby, a kitten, or a puppy
Looking at furniture.
Getting an old fashioned card or letter, from a friend or loved one. Mary MOB

Andrea, what age group are your students? I had an interesting moment, tonight, with my Grandson, who's 11. I was reading the politics post, and he began to tell me who he would vote for, which, nearly made me fall off my chair. I asked why he liked the candidate, and if he made up his own mind about the candidate, which he said he did. He told me with a chuckle, that a friend has a long list of what one candidate plans to do as President, but just a post-it on another candidate!! It's so interesting to see him grow up, and have opinions about things. He was kind of upset that his Aunt Debi, just 'assumed' he would be in her wedding, but didn't ask him. I told him, we should ask, but we make the mistake of seeing him as a little boy, instead of a preteen, with opinions on things. Mary MOB

My parents are from the beautiful island of Cephalonia (also spelled Kefalonia) off the west coast of Greece. All my grandparents have passed away, and although my grandfathers' lands have been transfered to my parents and aunts/uncles, we still consider the land as belonging to our grandfathers. After all, they were the ones who tilled the soil in the days before tractors and fertilizers; it's only fair to attribute the land to them.

And, I must say, our olive trees produce the best oil!! Or so it seems to us at least .

True, except that 75% or more of our guests also have olive oil from their grandfathers' olive groves, so it'll lose its specialness very quickly.

But I am considering olive oil and vinegar bottles as favors...close enough?

Yes he is!! He's a Jr. Groomsman. He's in 5th Gr.
My Husband and I are kinda low key on weekends, and I see that Grandson, is getting bored as he gets older, which is to be expected. So, tonight, I went to the basement, and climbed over a bunch of stuff, to reach two antique Hardy Boys Books for him to read. I asked him, to please come get them, and after he got them, and was planning to go upstairs, he paused and came back, because he saw me trying to wedge through a thin opening between a table and the wall. After successfully extricating myself from there, I joked, saying, ' I can see it now..... 911, may I help you? Ah, yes, we have a Grandmother stuck between a table and a wall......' Grandson and I were both cracking up!! Mary MOB
