Why oh why do some people refuse to scrap off the snow from the top of their cars???!!!
Especially SUV's, mini-vans/vans and trucks???
Hello it is like riding in a blizzard and forget about when big chucks of frozen snow come flying off at my windshield!!!!
Get a damn broom and sweep the top!!!!!!
OK I'm done now
I think I am more sensitive because I have Damien in the car!!!!

I know exactly what you mean. I was behind an SUV yesterday on the LIE and here we are whizzing along doing 70 (shhhhhhhhhhh don't tell) and a huge chunk of snow came flying off the top of the SUV. I was just able to get out of the way (thankfully no one was in the middle lane) or it would have smashed all over my car and maybe even have broken my windshield. JERKS!!!!!!!

Yep.. this is a pet peeve of mine too. Lazy people who just figure if they can see out the windows its good enough. I don't get it. Jim's brother does this.. HECK he doesnt even shovel out the drive unless it's more than he can clear out with his bumper!!!
I've been in a car that has snow on top.. it flies everywhere and gets BACK onto the windows.
Take the time, clean off your car. If you got all the windows and hopefully the hood done, it's not THAT much more to do the roof.
I had an SUV that had a solid form of ICE dusted with snow sitting on its bumper. After pulling off the highway it had to yeild (stop) once it zoomed forward the whole chunk the width of the SUV fell off. I hit it and it was like going over a slippery high speed bump.. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had been going faster!!!

I saw a cop car the other day covered with inches of snow - even on the hood.

I took my parents truck today to work and noticed I am guilty (well they are) of that snow mound on the top...I was cringing the entire way to work because I know what it is like when it comes flying off! I had heard on the news, you can get fined for that?! Not sure if it is true or not...

I also want to vent about people in SUV's and trucks who drive up your butt in traffic when they can see that you are moving with the speed of traffic.
(no offense to people driving SUV's or trucks, we are actually going to be looking for a SUV soon )

Uhmmm Actually no.. I didn't know we weren't allowed to.
I actually put snow IN the street to prevent people from blocking my driveway as well. Everytime we shovel out our drive some IDIOT decides 'oh look a nice clean spot' and parks.. then we have to sit there honking and waiting for someone to come GET their car out of our way as we hold up traffic (buses and angry motorists) for them to MOVE!
But honestly.. we're not supposed to..? Where is the snow from the sidewalk supposed to go??

its funny that it was a cop car, b/c the cops are giving out tickets left and right for people having snow/ice on the tops of their cars. its like $200 and 3 points on your license.

Yes, that is very annoying and dangerous. Also the people who work in the stores should clean their sidewalks as well. I had a dr appt a few weeks ago and had to walk about 100 feet on pure ice. You would think they would have done something.

Actually, I have been seeing a lot of cars being ticketed on the Belt Pkwy for this...I am assuming this is what it is for because every car I saw pulled over had a foot of snow on top of its roof!

Re: These people need a ticket!!!!! (vent)
tractor trailers doing 70+ on the LIE with snow flying off of them is just a recipe for disaster!!!!! at this point, it's gotten all icy and could probably smash through someone's windshield.
