Re: They are pulling my tooth tomorrow
I had 4 pulled at one time, the whole thing took maybe half an hour if that. I was put to sleep as well, so no idea how they did it.
My only advice is make sure there is someone who can drive you back from the surgery, and ask for extra gause pads, within the first hr or two you may have a lot of bleeding, they'll need . Stock up on baby food and yoghurts, I lived on that my first few days!!! And put ice pads the first few days to prevent and reduce swelling.

Re: They are pulling my tooth tomorrow
I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled at once! I was put to sleep, I do not even remember falling asleep.... I DID NOT Feel a thing. It felt like you were sleeping for 15 mins! It's such a weird feeling!
I was out of work for two days after, my face was swollen and some pain. Not unbearable. HOWEVER, as soon as the novacaine wore off the day I had them removed! OH MY GOODNESS! But I took a pain killer and it went away! '
Don't worry, everything will be fine!
Edited to say: I hope I made you feel better. Like I said, you will not feel a thing and it will feel like they were done in 10 mins! It's weird!

Re: They are pulling my tooth tomorrow
I wish I could be of comfort. My wisdom teeth have been fine. The only problem I have had is I have a small mouth and when they came in they shifted my teeth a little. My dentist wont pull them because they are healthy teeth and not impacted.
But just relax, take it easy and definatly put ice on your face and if they give you pain killers take it. Its a few days off from work for you too so just use the time to relax at home and watch some tv

Re: They are pulling my tooth tomorrow
I'm in dying pain right now from my one surviving wisdom tooth!! I can't wait to make an appt. but nothing to worry about - you go to sleep, you wake up - no tooth. You'll be a little groggy (sp?) and you'll have a lot of cotton in your mouth - it shouldn't hurt much, if at all. Just no smoking or drinking through straws for a couple of days. (but the last time I had one pulled I was still smoking so I smoked anyway and nothing happened)

Re: They are pulling my tooth tomorrow
I also had all 4 impacted wisdom teeth pulled last August because they were causing so much pain. I expected the worst but the whole thing went better than I could imagine. I was asleep (which was like for 30min but felt like 5 seconds) and when I got home I had no swelling and barely any pain. I have to go for a major root canal on Thursday night---ahh Wish me luck for that!
