They changed the Color scheme@ Estate @ East wind and no one told me and I'm 8 weeks out from getting married!!! help!!

Hello Ladies!!! We are having our reception @ The Estate on March 12, 2011. I went to the bridal showcase today 1/9 and was informed by my dj(Tommy Tunes) That they changed the ballroomby painting it white. I had NO IDEA. Noone ever called to inform me or sent me a letter or email. It was an aweful way to find out. I didnt start crying till I got into the ballroom. I'm 8 weeks away from having my wedding and now have to go back to my florist(Country Petals in Peconic) to rework my centerpieces. I had picked low smaller (mostly purples and plum) centerpieces bc the room had so much character. Now, I dont know what to do. Any suggestions would be great... Thanks Ladies!

OMG! So sorry! Why would they change the color so drastically? They should've painted it the same color!

i dont see why you cant keep purple CPs with white ballroom??

purple decor will really pop in a white room!

The room looks amazing since they painted it. The color isn't white, it's like an off-white. If anything, I think it would probably go better with your colors now that it's not that dark green color?

I don't see the problem, it sounds more elegant to me, it's not a plain room. Keep your flowers!

Why would you base your color scheme on the decor of the reception hall?

Aw, thats a bummer. I've never been there but if you preferred it before and feel that purple doesnt suit your style anymore just ask your florist to provide diff CP's. I'm sure they will work with you and make something that is more suiting for your design idea Good luck

Im an estate bride too..but I knew they were changing it before I booked. I have pictures of the CH rooms and the ballroom if you need them to show your florist. It is very beautiful in there now..neutral colors so ANY color scheme will work with it.

Honestly, your centerpieces will probably work better now! The estate looks so so pretty now (regretting not booking there!) It's so neutral that anything would look good there

Why wouldn't you? It would be a little dumb not to consider your RH's decor when planning you wedding colors. I really loved Riviera but didn't book there because the room was too dark for my color scheme.

I have to be honest i dont even know what colors the walls are at my rh, haha

but i think you should keep the purple!

When I looked a RH I did not consider what the colors of the hall where to my scheme that's DUMB IMO :rolls eyes:

I'm thinking you may just be freakign out b/c NO BRIDE wants anything they were planning on to change just a few weeks before the wedding regardless of what it is! Brides don't like change this close to their wedding!
But I think you'll be fine...I'm a big believer that I neutral palette is always best and with lighter walls the room will probably look bigger and cleaner and crisper!
You can chat with your floral people and see if there is anything they suggest, but I don't think you'll have to do a big overhaul of your CPs.
And if you still hate it, ask about uplighting on the walls.
