They just laid off 4 people in my office

I am freaking out. Do I sit tight and wait for the axe to fall or do I start looking for new job?

Anyone looking for an AR creidt/collections person?

I am so sorry.

I've been in that boat. I watched all my friends around me getting laid off. I took that as a sign and started sending out resumes.

But on the flip side if the axe falls hopefully you will get a severance package which will last for a few months.

I just went through this a few weeks ago. Start sending them out. If for nothing else, it may open up a window of opportunity elsewhere and it'll safeguard you in case something happens.

So sorry to hear. I agree, it doesn't hurt to start looking around and seeing your options. You never know, you just might find something you like better!

My advise is to get your resume in order and start to call some contacts that you can really, really trust. Don't blank the industry with your resume. You don't want your current employer to find out you are looking. It is NOT an easy thing to be a part of a lay-off, whether you stay or go.
