I have always heard it's good to tell the dress shops the wedding is a few weeks earlier than it actually is. After all, why do they need to know the EXACT date, right? That just gives them more time to get things wrong.
It was about 8 years ago, and I just walked into a place on Ditmars - sorry, I don't know who it was and I moved away from there (to Boston) 4 years ago so I wouldn't be able to look to see if I could figure out who it was.

they say one thing always goes wrong (long)...
Leighann so glad to hear that everything worked out with the dress-- but to pass on to you I have been told that expect 3 things to go wrong-- hopefully your ordeal is all that you will have to go through
