OK, so now I'm completely confused. I called Jericho Terrace to see when we have to schedule a run through/rehearsal for our ceremony in the Skylight room. I was wondering because since we're getting married on a Sunday, we obviously wouldn't be able to have it there on the day or 2 before. They said we just do a run through like a 1/2 hour before they start letting guests enter the room. WHAT??????? What?? What!? My FH & I aren't seeing each other before the ceremony so they said my dad would just let me know what to do. Huh? Is this insane? And what about the Rehearsal Dinner? Now I am so upset & I don't know what to do. I need to know what to expect before I walk down the aisle. I don't want to hide out in the Bridal Suite while everyone does a run through. What should I do?

Wow... I would call and demand to have a run through days before the wedding atleast! Tell them you want a traditional RD -

They said that because they'd be having weddings going on over that weekend, that it'd be impossible to do, but maybe if I can do something during the week????

That's what I just did at Carlyle...it went fine. And belive me, it doesn't matter that you just follow your dad's lead, because the emotions are so high at the time, you can't remember what they tell you anyway. LOL...It really went fine though..I promise.

Yes, a weekend or a Friday would be a no. But I would ask for a weekday rehearsal. Like Tuesday or Wednesday. It's normal for halls that do multiple weddings to do the rehearsal the day of, but I have seen JT rehearsals during the week.

That's the way it is when you get married at the hall. For my wedding and for two weddings that I was in the rehersal was held a half hour before the ceremony. I had my 'rehersal dinner' a week beforehand. It really isn't that big of a deal - I know it seems like it is now, but it's really not. On the bright side, this way it will be fresh in everyone's memory.

That's common with all halls. We had a rehersal dinner the night before and did a run through then. THEN that morning I relaxed in the Bridal Suite while everyone but me did a run through.
It's completely normal. No need to worry.

I totally agree. DH and I saw each other beforehand, but I didn't do the rehearsal. I just hung out in the bridal suite. You just walk down the aisle. You don't need to be at the rehearsal if you don't want to see your FI.

First of all, you dont need to be at the rehearsal...all you're doing is walking down the isle, its the rest of the bridal party, the groom and his ushers that need to coordinate. Second, the Rehearsal Dinner does not need to be held the day of the rehearsal...you can have the RD on Thursday or Friday evening...

we did this a the fox hollow too the rehersal was about 1/2 hour before the ceremony. no biggie!!!!
dont freak out it will be okay.
if you want to have the rehersal there you may have to do it that thursday before hand.

We're doing the same thing. The 'rehearsal' dinner is the night before, so technically its a pre-wedding dinner. We are doing pics before ther ceremony, but I am not going to participate in the rehearsal. I will wait in the bridal suite while they do the run through and my parents and BM and fill me in. How hard is it? Walk down the aisle, stand there, walk back down the aisle.

For my sister's wedding, we didn't even do a run through 1/2 hour before. We just lined up where we were told by the staff and out we went when it was time to start!

You need to let them know that you are paying extra money to have your ceremony there, so they have to let you have a rehearsal (that is what comes with the ceremony anywhere you go). As long as you don't have it when they have a wedding, I don't see why they could not accommodate you!!! The building is open anyway, it is not like you are asking them to have someone come from home to open the doors just for you and FH. And plus just let them know that you would like to have your RD, so when do they expect you to do that - 15 minutes before the wedding?

Yeah, I think I'm still going to see if we can arrange for it before that day. Maybe like during the week. I just think it's better to know how things will pan out.
