Things I learned at my engagement shoot.....
1. Have FH carry lipstick/gloss in his pocket. I kept running back to my bag to reapply. Also, take a break somewhere in the middle to check hair and makeup!
2. We did ours this past weekend and our wedding is in January. If I could suggest something to those who have some time like I did: do them when it is cooler out! By the end, both FH and I were sweating. GROSS.....
3. Seems silly, but just like for the wedding, make a list of 'must take shots' if you have something you want. I wanted a picture of FH 'dipping' me and kissing and I totally forgot about it.
4. Break in your shoes!! I wore new heels and after 2 hours of walking and taking pictures, I had PAINFUL blisters!
5. We chose to do 'layers' instead of changing outfits completely. I would suggest, and FH agrees, that switching outfits would have been better. We don't get our proofs back for 3 weeks, but we are afraid it is going to be 600 pictures that look too similar. I wore a black dress from JCrew with a sweater in some of the pictures. FH wore jeans and a white button up with a casual blazer for some of the pics.
6. FH thinks we should have brought something meaningful to us, perhaps a football, as a prop in our pictures. I think they were fine without, but I told him I would mention it.
Overall, we had a great experience and we are so excited to get the proofs (and of course, share them with all of you). We also had a lot more fin than we thought we were going to. We laughed non-stop... how can you not when you are supposed to 'look out in the distance' or 'look deep into each others eyes'
