Things I realized once I got my video raw footage back...
Got my wedding video raw footage back and watched it! It was so interesting to watch everything from a different perspective and to see what happened when DH and I weren't in the room or when people didn't think we were looking...
1) One guest spent the whole time typing on his blackberry -- and during the speeches wasn't even in the room, but rather in the small lobby to our backs area right outside the reception room, which we could see on the video!
2) Most friends never sent me photos or posted them on facebook, so I assumed they never took photos. But on the video you can see them taking pics! Doubly annoying because I asked for photos from my friends because my grandma could not come to the wedding but my mom was going down to visit her after the wedding and we wanted to show her as many photos as possible.
3) One friend, who left early for some unknown reason at the time, could be seen on the video looking totally miserable and I guess that is why she left.
4) Another friend who left early because he was 'really sick' was on the video dancing non-stop, smiling, and generally having fun. And... then he left early and DH and I were really confused because he didn't have a long drive home!
5) The dancefloor was always packed and hopping and the party was great when we were there. When DH and I left the room for various reasons, everyone left the dancefloor!
6) People say really funny/weird things when they are in front of the camera. My sister's date called me BY THE WRONG NAME for starters! And the MC kept playing it up to the camera, doing funny dance moves and making funny faces when we probably weren't looking.
7) People say really great things in front of the camera. My parents were both in my hotel room when I was getting ready. The videographer asked them each to say a few words and even though I was standing literally 5 feet away I didn't remember at all what they said. Well DH and I listened to what they said and it was so sweet and I was so happy it was recorded! DH even said he had no idea my dad was that deep.
8) It is fun to watch drunk people dance![]()
even better that we have a video record of it!
9) And lastly -- I have never seen myself dance on video, but I think I dance rather well! And my hair was awesome and really bouncy, something that was hard to see in photos!
