Things that went WRONG on my Wedding Day!!

OK So i'm not sure if this will ease your fears or make you panic but things will go wrong on your day....expect it and laugh at it.

Here are a few of the things that happened on my day:

* My makeup artist convinced me to wear those fake eyelashes that are in a strip even tho I insisted before the Day Of that I wanted seperate lashes. She was having trouble getting the individuals to stay (and she was from Chanel!!!!) so she said she was a 'PRO' at the strips. I gave in and sure enough, by the time we got to RH, one was hanging off like a spider. HAHAHHAHA. I ripped them off and went on with my day.

* My hair stylist completely forgot to put my veil on for me and I forgot too until the photographer came and she was long gone! We stuck the veil in ourselves and it kept falling off all day! oh well, by the time First Dance was over I ripped it out and threw it in the corner. Oh well....my day still went great.

* My limo's showed up and the limo driver I requested wasn't there. Some weird guy with too much cologne and a fake&bake tan was my driver. Also, I threatened my limo company that if they didn't take the fake 'BENTLEY' grill off of the front of the Chrysler (it wasn't there when I booked!), that i'd shoot them. Sure enough, it showed up with a cheesy, wanna be 'BENTLEY' grill. Oh well LOL!!

* My Best Friend/BM was supposed to hold my engagement ring for me at the Church but it flung out of my hand as I was handing it to her. This is about 30 seconds before it was her turn to walk. It was the loudest sound in the world, all you heard was PING and it bounced. All of our faces dropped and we were all scrambling to find it, it was like a comedy. We found it as she started walking and she grabbed it at the last second. It wouldn't have mattered anyway because my Priest forgot to include the part of the ceremony where DH slips the engagement ring on to protect my wedding ring. HAHA.

* My ringbearer refused to walk down the aisle with the flowergirl. Flat out REFUSED. So he walked down with my mom, and she walked by herself.

* My flowergirl threw a fit as we were waiting to walk into the church. Her mom was yelling at her that she HAS TO wear her shoes and FG started crying....a total scene. I ripped off her shoes and asked for her flip flops. She had the biggest smile on her face and walked down the aisle in her flip flops. =)

* THIS IS GROSS< I WARN U!! We just left the Church in the city for the hour ride to the RH and got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. I had to pee sooooooooo bad. FH got me a plastic cup and turned around. HAHA hey when you gotta go, you gotta go!!

* We had an adults only reception. Sure enough, someone walked in pushing a baby stroller. ahhh ya gotta love people.

* Our Bridal Attendant completely ignored us and waited on tables.

* My bustle to my dress broke....i mean completely ripped. Luckily, with some safety pins and thread, we made it work.

Listen, things will go wrong. Don't look at this in a bad way but learn from it. If you expect things to be perfect then you're not being realistic. Me and FH laugh about all these funny things now and they really just made our day funny and special. Anyone else have any funny things that happened?

I'm sure I will have quite a few things to report once my day has come but I gotta say ..............the baby stroller............OMG that would make me twitch. The other things are kinda like no one in particular's fault, but THAT is just downright rude and inconsiderate!

Good for you though for having the outlook that you do. It's true that on your day - what happens happens and there is nothing to do but just sit back relax and enjoy!

OMG, you are a trooper!!! I'm glad you posted this. I had a few things go wrong too, and I was beginning to think I was the only one! What can you do . . .have a few drinks and pray the photos look like you had a perfect wedding!

wow you're so funny you actually got it on tape!!!! You should have seen my trucker mouth when we got to the RH after pics and my Bridal Party ate ALL the food! I waited 5 minutes and they weren't bringing any for the Bride and Groom so I went bananas, yelling like a crazy woman. Yea, see me when i'm hungry and tired HAHA I am a totally different type of woman!

many things happened to me but that was not going to stop me from marrying dh

my nephew kept stomping on my veil and no one was watching him

before i was about to walk down the aisle both rb were fighting over the pillow (i bought them 2 pillows) sil forgot the one for her son seriously wasnt a big deal but the bickering minutes before I was about to walk down the aisle was getting to me i finally said leave the pillow no one walks down with it (they finally went down the aisle gracefully)

a few people lost it the day of my wedding and kind of brought there issues to my occassion i really had to ignore it



my first set of flowers showed up completely dead i kind of thought it was funny and ballsy for them to even try to pull it off my bm (best friend) called them and told them it was unacceptable and I was in tears (i really wasnt) they sent new ones



i am sure there is more thats all i could think of right now- somehow you just roll with the punches


also just remembered I was an early bride and I am waiting in the lobby of the chuch patiently wondering why I was waiting - it turns out one of the gm's was stuck in traffic with my reader! it was too funny he walked in and apologized to me I had no clue what was happening I said sorry for what then he realized I had no clue and just jetted out of the lobby into the church before he made matters worse- ( i was okay with him being late)

Some things are so funny! OMG, the ring...that's the best. Not funny that your ring dropped, but that must have been hysterical. Someone walking in with a stroller...people are hot sh*t!! Your BM ignored you...wow! You're so funny...fake & bake! It's good that you were able to go with it and laugh!

sounds about right!!

i think everyone had a few things happen --- let's see:
- somehow lost my ring pillow in a black hole, had to buy a new at ac moore before the RD
- florist swore they dropped off the FG baskets at the RH - they were never found
- right before the ceremony the zipper on one of my BMs split! another BM safety pinned it together, and she kept her arms pretty close to her body for the whole thing - her husband sewed her into the dress during the reception
- DH and i planned to do a choreographed first dance - we didn't, we were too nervous!
- DH stepped on my dress and broke my bustle twice - but he did sew it back permanently

obviously things are always going to happen but i thought my day was perfect despite these little hiccups. i can definitely laugh about them!

WOW, YOU ARE AWESOME!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE PICS!

1. I was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. They told me I wasn't going to make my wedding on Saturday. I was discharged in good spirits and O.K. health on Friday.

2. I lost a lot of hair from being ill. I looked like a grease ball, but that's just me being overly critical.

3. The corset back ripped on my dress AS I WAS GETTING INTO IT FOR THE FIRST TIME!. 3 safety pins, a sh*t load of medical tape and the dress stayed all day and night.

4. My MOH forgot the filled petal cones, so the ceremony started 30-40 minutes late. She sent her husband from Smithtown to Huntington to pick them up. They were available for guests to toss after the ceremony.

5. My processional started without notifying the photographer or videographer. We missed the first three couples walking....which included my new In-Laws.

5. We forgot to put tape down to indicate where each of the wedding party members stands. The ring bearer stood in front of DH and I the whole entire ceremony. At one point he even snuck a touch of my dress in awe. He's in every single ceremony picture ( )

6. My MOH got a serious migraine and was vomiting in the bridal suite before we were all announced at the reception.

7. Someone from the day time party had diarrhea all over the ballroom bathroom. The RH didn't clean it out before my wedding began. My brother noticed it during cocktail hour when he went into the ballroom to check it out. AAAHHHHHHH....thank god it was only him who noticed.

8. I bought FH a $3,600 professional video camera as his wedding gift and it broke during the filming of the wedding. I found out at midnight, but couldn't have cared less!!!! It's just money....and it was replaced at no charge the next day!!!!

9. The funniest one yet.......my BMs ordered a town car to pick up DH and I at the end of the reception and drive us to our hotel. IT NEVER SHOWED UP!!! DH and I were hanging out in the parking lot of our RH for 30 minutes with all of our boxes of stuff. We ended up taking a dingy Lindy's Taxi to our Pre-Honeymoon Suite! HAHAHA....

10. We cancelled our HM because of how sick I was. This one isn't funny at all, and I still cry thinking about it. BUT, DH keeps reminding me that at least it's not over yet. We still have something to look forward to.

There was more stuff I know...but in the end, my day was beautiful and I love being married. Don't worry about anything on your day.....Que Sera......
