Things to do for OOT guests

Things to do for OOT guests

I am thinking of putting a pamphlet together for my OOT guests. We will probably have about 50 of them. Can you recommend a list of things to do, places to go, shopping dining? Thanks.

Where are your guests staying?

We are not sure yet, but we are between the Huntington Hilton, Marriott Melville and Sheraton in Plainview. They are all within a mile of each other. The church is in Commack and the wedding is in Huntington.

Start here: Long Island Convention & Visitor's Bureau

You can find out all sorts of stuff for them to visit and see. There is a link to the I love NY pages where you can order the Visitor's guide for LI. These are seasonal publications, so since you are getting married in 2008, you would want to place an order with them for the books (if you wanted to drop them into an OOT bag) in the winter of '08 for the spring/summer books.

There is also a site for the vineyards and wineries out east: Long Island Wine Country

But I think if you start with the LICVB site, you'll get lots of info for all over.

We have a page of our wedding website devoted to activities and places for OOT guests to go and do. We are putting our website address on our STD's so they'll be able to see everything there. Makes it so much easier.

For those people who want to stay close to Huntington/Melville/Plainview, I have listed some suggestions

For kids and their families, there is...

Attractions:
Adventure Land in Farmingdale,
Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington

Restaurants:
Legal Seafoods in Huntington
Matteo's in Huntinton
Maxwells and Dunes in Plainview

Good Luck!

You can tell them to go to Port Jeff, or one of the wineries out east (one that's not too far). HTH

You can send them over shopping to one of LI's many malls, beaches, vineyards, the city one day, Gold Coast mansion tour, Adventure Land, Splish Splash, Aquarium, Riverhead shopping....

We are doing this!! The LICVB sent me a LI travel guide. It was for the spring, but I am going to call back to request Fall ones when it's time!! The guides were great. And I just called the LI Wine Council and they have brochures they will give you -- the lady was so sweet on the phone, you just have to pick up the brochures she said which is in Calverton by Tanger.

We are also going to put North Fork Chips in all of our OOT boxes. Going for the LI Theme
