Salem isnt too much further. I dont know how fun it is when it isnt Halloween but it could be somewhere to sight-see.

It is north of Boston and it was fairly easy to find. I think the company was Newburyport Whale Watching Tours or something like that.

Re: Things to do in Boston?
I only spent one day in boston, but I think there's defintiely a lot to do, there are a lot of historical sites, I've always wanted to go to Qunicy, MA, and it's like NY, there's a lot of nightlife, concerts, comedy, theatre, dining, etc
Salem sounds cool too!!! we are very unstructured!
Here are some Salem pics I took when I was there for Halloween:

throw things at red sox fans!
We went to Cheers - it doesn't look much like the bar on the TV show, but it was cool. :)
Have fun!

Re: Things to do in Boston?
i live in Boston My favorites are to wander around Beacon hill - the expensive area of town - lousivilee square is really pretty - gas lite streets
the publis garden is blooming and very pretty
the duck tours are a great way to see the city pretty quickly - the drivers are interesting
can go over to cambridge- harvard square is a lot of fun
quincy market/fenuil hall is always fun
charles street - has some really cute boutique shops- like newbury street but less crowded- also good restaurants on this street
north end is great or italian bakeries and dinner
as for bars -there are lots of irish bars by quincy market - some good ones are ned Divine's and the bell and hand also more of the trendy of bars are down by boyleston the prudential center
