I went on my first dress shopping trip today and I think I found my dress. Funny enough, it was the FIRST one I tried on. It's Richard Glasgow and it's so pretty and just so 'me' with a little ribbon on the bodice. I'm definitely going to keep looking at more dresses just to make sure, but I absolutely love this dress. I'm not in love with the price tag, but FH said 'Hopefully, you're only getting married once. Get the dress you want.' He's so great!
ETA: And I tried it on with a sparkly veil that I loved!!!! It was even glittering in the daylight. My mother says she can make it for me, so that should save about $500. Only $4000 more to go and I can get this dress!

Don't worry Becks, I didn't sleep the whole night before dress shopping. I was really nervous too! But it's fun.

Jan05--Thanks for posting the dress! I tried, but the file was too large and I don't know how to resize
becks--I went to Wedding Salon of Manhasset and worked with Noreen, who is fantastic. I was also really nervous and felt SO overwhelmed when I walked in. I was lucky to have Noreen and my fabulous wedding planner (plug for Elaine DeLuca) with me as well as my mom and a BM. For me, the nerves were the fact that this all seems so 'real' now and I'm not ready to be a grown up yet
Just listen to the sales associate when she suggests dresses because she will really have an idea of what's best for your body type.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the dress! I love Richard Glascow...he makes a dress almost identical to mine but much more $$$...I think it was Bethsairs dress and if I had the cash I'd have gotten it, his styles are amazing!

This dress is gorgeous!!
There is a similar one by Jasmine (with a little bow under the bust). The detail is not as intricate, but the idea is almost the same. It was quoted to me at $800, if you're looking for something lower priced.

The dress is beautiful. I tried on a dress by Ines Di Santo and it is somewhat similar. You may like that as well ( if you are still looking) but the one you picked out is gorgeos as well.
have you tried to see if you can get it online? like bridesave, etc. its worth a try. but it is gorgeous. maybe you can cut out some other expenses to make up for the dress price. like make your own programs, invitations, etc.
