Think this is a stupid idea?? Mixed feelings...LONG!

I am supposed to get ready at my mom's house. She literally lives up the block from the church. At first I thought it was a good idea.. but someone posted something the other day that got me thinking.. since my mom smokes.. even if she dosent smoke that day.. her house still smells like it. And none of my bm's or I smoke and we all hate the smell and it would kind of be horrible IMO to smell like smoke on my wedding day. Also her house isnt that big and there is no backyard really so not many good places for pics..
So I was thinking last night that since my hall is only 15 min away from the church all my bm's and I could meet there in the morning.. there is a big smoke free bridal suite.. tuns of places to take pics - PLUS I thought that if everyone met there in the morning and then the limo picks us up 4 the church I dont have to worry about them getting home that night since there cars will be there all day!
Now the downside is I dont know if my mom will be offended, and I want to take pictures with her getting ready as well and dont know if its an inconvienance (sp?) to make her drive to the hall to get ready when she lives down the block from the church.
Is this really stupid? My FMIL thinks it is horrible of me to not want to get ready at my mothers house.. I already called my hall and they said it was fine with them as long as they dont have an AM wedding that day which so far they dont...

That's a touchy subject. As much as it is your day parents have ideas in their heads as well. I doubt you will smell of smoke from a few hours at your Mom's house. I'm sure your photographer can get some nice shots. for the most part they are close ups of you & your bridal party & your parents. Then you in the bedroom getting ready. It can be done in a small house!
