So, I like reading both threads (brides helping brides and 2012 brides), but have found the responses more plentiful on here. Anyone else have that same experience?
Anyway, FH and I went to the spring bridal showcase at Fox Hollow earlier to meet with a DJ that was doing a performance (Tommy's Tunes for all those who did not attend) and we instantly clicked with one of their MC's Joe. We liked how real and down to earth he seemed and his sense of humor went well with my FH. We set up an apponintment for next week and we are looking to book. Super excited! That much closer to booking all our vendors!
I would love to hear your experiences with them, good or bad.
So did anyone else attend the showcase? I was really drawn to the booth for Elsa's custom jewelry design. FH had my ring hand etched to have an antique look to it and I would love to have a wedding band that matches. BTW, the new room at the fox hollow is beautiful!

Re: Think we got a CHECK
Make sure your contract says who your MC will be...you don't want to book with a company bc of one person, and then it turns out they aren't going to be at your wedding.. just some advice. :)

I agree M, but what I unfortunatley found out is that no place guarantees a person to come (their excuse is, 'how do I know so & so isn't going to have the flu? Or get addicted to crack?' hahaha I swear thats what I was told, when I wanted to make sureeee I had a singer for my band lol

I have some advice / story about this issue. Places will not put a persons name on the contract but I think it is wise to have them add in a clause that states that the DJ working your wedding has been working for them for at least 6 mo or a year. At my Sweet 16 the MC who we booked with quit and so they send this 19 year old kid, who I later found out was the owners neighbor to MC and he didn't know what he was doing and he couldn't even get the equipment set up. My uncle who is in the audio field had to set it up and had to be the dj/mc at my wedding because the kid they send left. Of course we called them but by the time they send someone else the party was already going on for 2 hours. I made sure my DJ contracted stated that the DJ that will do my wedding will be working there for at least a year. SO at least I know he is a DJ and not some random person lol

Re: Think we got a CHECK
I really liked Tommy Tunes and FH wanted to book them, but we waited until we saw a performance (and then we wrote the check that night). Joe is great and they have a lot of really good MC's with different personalities, so if he's the one you click with, then make sure he's your guy. Also, if you are interested in live musicians, Tommy has tapes of live performances, so make sure you let him know. If you have any questions, FM me.

Re: Think we got a CHECK
I won a door prize at one of Fox Hollow's events. It was for free plasma tv displays thru tommy tunes. I booked another DJ so if anyone wants it feel free to message me.

Re: Think we got a CHECK
thanks for all the great advice. I'm pretty sure they told me that I could request the MC that I want (as long as they're available on my day of course) but I never thought to ask what happens if they are no longer with the company when our wedding day comes. I will definitely have to ask how that works!
Anyone else working with TT? Who are you using for an MC?
