Thinking about a DOC

Thinking about a DOC

I've been toying around with this since we initially started our planning process.

How much do they typically charge?

How far in advance do you have to book them, and what is the down payment like?

How many times do you meet with them before the day of the wedding?

TIA

We are looking into the same thing. From what I can tell they run anywhere from $500-$1500.

As for the down payment, I think it is usually around $200-$300.

I spoke to a couple and some said they would meet with you once before the wedding with unlimited email or phone access, while others said they would meet with you twice and attend your rehersal.

FM me if you would like more info regarding the ones I spoke to.

our DOC is from Dazzling Affairs. she did my sisters wedding and was AMAZING! i booked her the week after my sisters wedding. her price range varies so you should go on her site and find out what you want. We will meet with her two times before the wedding. after seeing what she did for my sister, i would 100% suggest people get a DOC. it takes the stress off of you and FH and you can just be the bride and groom.

Don't think! DO!!! Totally worth it. I've had mine booked for a few months now and she's been a godsend. She had her husband send me an e-mail yesterday to call her because she was out and heard something that would be useful for my wedding. She is sooo thoughtful! I read a lot of reviews on here. Created a list of the common DOC's. Posted on the vendor board. Met with 3 out of my top 4. It's a personal choice with who you click with. Definitely splurge. I promise you won't regret it.

I am using Francesca as well. She is a sweetheart! We email ALL the time about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. whenever I freak out I email her and she emails me RIGHT back. I am meeting with her soon (I have to schedule my appt) to go over all the details of the wedding.
I'm very hands on and love doing everything myself but I know that day it will be impossible and having someone there to take care of those little extras will be so comforting. Definitely WORTH IT!

Re: Thinking about a DOC

I was told about $750 and that was for my off-day, off-season wedding. I felt like that money could be better spent on other things. Maybe it helps that the wedding is small too and that we have an excellent BM who is taking care of a lot of stuff I think a DOC might normally do.

FH and I are also really particular about stuff and like to be in control -- so either we will manage our own wedding or we would wind up paying someone and just managing them instead in the end anyway.

Everyone is different but here is a list of some of the things my DOC does:

*Available via email and phone anytime prior to the date of the event
*2 in-person meetings starting 4 weeks prior to your wedding day
*Review all contracts and contact all vendors the week of the event
*Set up a “Day Of” timeline
*Coordinate all vendors based on final timeline decisions
*First vendor to arrive to make sure that all other vendors are ready to go on time
*Receiving deliveries and greeting vendors on wedding day
*Lining up and cueing the wedding party when it is time to walk down the aisle
*Gathering family members/wedding party for photographs
*Ensuring proper placement of wedding favors
Wedding programs, wedding bubbles, exit petals, disposable cameras, etc.
*Work closely with Maitre-d’ and bridal attendant
*Making sure that band, dj and mc play all songs requested
*Guiding you graciously through your day
*Keeping track of specialty items and then packing everything up
*Distributing gratuities or final payments to all vendors
*Arranging transportation for you at the end of the event
*Ensure vendors provide services as requested
*Wedding Emergency Kits - if a need arises, we probably have the solution in one of our kits; we come prepared with everything but the kitchen sink!
