thinking about putting the tree (w/ poll)

so do you do real or fake (for those who celebrate)?

i love the smell of a real tree in the house, but i always feel bad about killing a tree to hang a bunch of stuff on it and throw it away after a month. i'm thinking about going artificial this year since some of them look so real, but holy batman!

I say fake you can always get the Yankee candles that smell like christmas trees.

We got a fake prelit tree in Harrow's when they were closing a store. It was still very expensive ($200 from $600) but it's beautiful and looks just like a real tree.

I am have a fake tree from last year. I love it, got it right before christmas so it was under $100 last year.

I love real trees but I feel guilty getting a real tree and also I worry about weather or not it has enough water so towards the end of the christmas season i barley turn on the lights any more. I know i am paranoid.

I grew up with a fake tree and was adamant about using one. We were actually going to use my parents old tree but when we opened the box it was falling apart. FH always had a real tree. I was very hesitant to get a real tree but we did it last year and I loved it. We just picked our tree this year last night. These trees are grown for this purpose so I don't feel bad. I do a lot to be green.

we have a fake pre lit tree that we got from loews last year. it looks like the real thing but there are no needles to vacuum everyday! and we are saving the environment by not cutting down a tree for our own selfish reasons.

I get a real tree, because I like the fact that I can throw the thing out. Unless you have enough storage space, fakes ones are a pain in the butt to put away

always had a real tree at home... 1st xmas out of the house and told fh we have to get a real one, no questions asked... its a tradition that we have that i think should be carried on

FH used to sell Christmas trees in high school so he REFUSES to let us get a fake one. It s ucks though bc we would have a perfect spot for it in the entryway but the heater's in front of it, so we'll have to get a smaller one and jam it into the living room.

When I was little my parents always had a fake one cause of the shaggy carpets back then,LOL. But once that carpet was gone it was REAL from then on. FH only does real as well. I asked him the other day when we live together are we doing real or fake and he was like REAL!!!

We picked up our real tree last night. I grew up with real trees-it used to be a family tradition (with grandparents, aunt, uncles, etc) that we all went and cut down cur tree's together.

Real tree for me! Even though every year when I take the tree down I think next year I'm getting a fake....I just can't bring myself to do it.

Plus, I have a pet rabbit who absolutely loves to chew on things. The real tree can't hurt her if she takes a couple of nibbles.

I like fake trees better but the last three years Ive been with FH we've had a real tree bc we have no where to store a fake tree all year in our apt....when we get a house then def a fake!
