Re: this def might be a dumb question
I pondered the same thing. I am ordering only 30 STDs because I know I have 30 people on my 'definitely inviting' list. For the others...ehhh.its a case-by-case basis.

I would just send them to the people you are 100% sure about because once you send them out, it's kinda hard/awkward to take back the invitation.

Re: this def might be a dumb question
I am only doing people I am 100% about. I just started a new job and I am not sure who I will, if anyone. So I am not sending a save the date to any of them. I am doing it more for close friends and family.

If you don't know for sure that you're inviting them, DEF do not send an STD.

Yeah, what everyone else said . . . You def can't send people an STD and then not invite them.

Re: this def might be a dumb question
I only sent the STD's to people I knew I was inviting. However, there were some of my dad's cousin's kids I'm iffy about, so I didn't send the STD's to them or their parents. I didn't want the kids (who are adults) to know they are sort of B-listed. I really only wanted them to send to the people I am close with that live far away that would need advance notice. But the FH's family kept giving us 20 questions so I made up a magnet and attached it to a card that had all the wedding and accomodation info on it and some 'things to do' in the area. I thought it would shut them up, but I was wrong. Oh well.
