What would you girls do if your FH told you, u had to wait for the wedding another year b/c finances were tight? Would u go mad? or would u be calm, cool, and collected about it?

Re: This hasnt' happened to me but...
i don't think i would be mad, it wouldn't exactly thrill me, but i'm realistic enough to know that we can't have a 25k wedding if we only have 11k saved and the wedding is in 2 months.

I couldn't be mad...if he said money was tight and we couldn't afford to do it then I would have to go with what he said
...we're paying for it, so its not like money would be handed to us...I'd be upset but I'd understand

Re: This hasnt' happened to me but...
Kind of happened to me (I wanted to get married at the end of this summer). We discussed it and his concerns were legit - he wanted to clear some debt before taking on wedding expenses. Since I pay the bills, I knew this was a practical decision, plus - it only meant waiting like 8 months. I waited forever to find him, I could certainly wait a few months to marry him. I also looked at it as an opportunity to plan at my own pace and try to minimize the last minute stress.

I would be disappointed, but I think that I would accept it and move on. I just want to get married to my FH and he's worth the wait!

LOL i got confused there for a min LOL well now that it is fixed i would totally understand..
fh and i were actually going to get married this year but after pricing things around we talk and thought money wise waiting an extra year would be better for the both us . since him and i are paying for the weddng ..
just think saving for extra bucks can never hurt and will help you out in the future

I WOULDNT BE MAD AT ALL....I WOULD COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION....A WEDDING IS A BIG EXPENSE.

It does seem like a long time, I know. But if you want the whole 'wedding' thing, then its probably a good idea to wait. You could just get married without the 'wedding' if you don't want to wait,

I don't know. We'll have been engaged for 3 years whenw e get married. if he wanted to put it off any more I'd think he didn't want to get married. life happens, and there's never a perfect time, but you have to do the best you can to make it work, whther that eans cutting the uests list, changing the dtae or hall, or finding some way to finance it. I think at this point FH would rather take out a loan than push the wedding off anymore, and I think that's better than him saying we should wait longer.

You just have to make some real choices. If you can't afford the wedding the year you really want then look at why. Too many people? Reception too much p/p? Dress to much $?? Make some choices and see where money could be saved in the budget and see if having it this year is still an option. You have to decide what is REALLY important to You! Good Luck!
